Any New Jersey riders?

That's right - I'm quoting myself. :crazy:

So no takers for this weekend? No interest? Nada? Nothing? It'd be great to meet someone from this sight, as well as having some company to ride with.

Well, since I did say I'd offer some suggestions, if anyone wants to meet:

NW Jersey: We could do a run by High Point and take route 519 South to "wherever". It runs all the way down south of Route 78. Not all that familiar with route 519, but hit it for about 5 miles a few weeks back and it was nice.

Eastern NJ: Umm, I don't know any good riding roads in this area. Know my way around, though. Emon?

Western NJ: Open for ideas. What are you doing this weekend PoconoVFR? :smile:

There's always places like New Hope, Washington Crossing, Frenchtown, etc. I've been to these general areas twice, but don't know the better roads.

I'm willing to do some traveling to meet up with anyone, although I'm limited to either Saturday or Sunday (can't do both or an overnighter). Saturday would work better, personally, but Sunday is OK too.

i'm not sure about the next two weekends, but after the 13th, the wife is taking the kids to Florida for the week+! i'll be free - might even take a day or too off from work if the weather is nice. let's target the 14th for ride. high point and/or the poconos sounds good - i haven't been to either in a very long time so would need to rely on recommendations.

 

OK, can we get a ride together this weekend? How is Sunday, June 14th? I'm planning to ride up to/through High Point State Park, starting in Hightstown/East Windsor, heading up via Rt. 23. For the south/central riders, we can meet up first then hook up with any riders in parts north. Anyone?

 

As of right now, count me in. I'll keep my eye on the thread this week.

I might be in. I saw a VFR in highland park the other day while i was doing laundry. It was an mid to late 90's model in red.

I'm in MO right now but will be back in NJ mid August....just got my VFR yesterday...love it.......07 RWB leftover with zero miles(now 250)

 

I'm a little embarrassed to say I haven't even had the chance to start her up in two weeks now. Life is getting ridiculous...

Hey BB...we're practically neighbors. I'm in East Windsor. My weekend schedule is completely nuts for the next few weeks but I'm hoping to get out either Father's Day or July 4th weekend at some point. We should hook up.

 

Let me know what your plans are. Father's Day might be tough - it's also my wedding anniversary, but July 4th might be doable. I don't think I have any obligations at the moment. I'm right on North Main in Hightstown.

 

I'll post back as the date gets closer...I'm right up the road from you in the Centex development where 539 crosses the Turnpike.

 

I'll be watching this thread for rides. I'm in Queens, NY. Too bad I already have plans mid day on the 14th.

If this rides decides to head north I will certainly be around on Sunday. If anyone has the time I'll show you some great roads in Pike county with an exit stategy coming down 97 from Barryville. It's a fun loop. Not sure why you would waste time on 23???

 

Tentatively, I was planning to head up to High Point State Park - which Rt. 23 runs through - which comes out south of Port Jervis, then hitting Hawk's Nest north of Port Jervis (mentioned in an earlier post). I haven't been up that way so any recommendations you have would be great.

As I mentioned earlier, the family will be away so I don't have any time constraints. I'm up for exploring.

I was thinking about heading out around 10:30 which would put me up around High Point somewhere around noon. Depending on interest, we can set meeting points along the way for those already in north Jersey and meet up with poconovfr in the Port Jervis area. Or we can always bag High Point and beeline it to PA to meet up with poconovfr who seems to have some fun routes in mind already. Thoughts?

So far it looks like we have 4 through Jersey (me, Dino, Pliskin, and OSB if he only uses 1st gear) and pocono up north. Anyone else?

I hope we can firm up a time this evening.
