As of tonight my VFR is gone a woman pulled out in front of me after not stopping for a stop sign. The bike got written off and I got a bruised hip a scraped knee and finger! The woman got charged and I'll be going to the insurance tomorrow and then to see the bike to retrieve some stuff namely the seat.

1 Sargent Seat (I have to see what condition it's in) DID NOT SURVIVE
2 Rear wheel (spare) -not involved
3 Stock seat for a 99 5th Gen -not involved
4 Rear seat cowl cover -not involved

All these things will be for sale!

Sucks. Buy a nicer/newer one with the insurance money :)

Or get a salvage title and save some money! (then I won't be the only one around here with a salvage title!)

Sounds like you are quitting? Don't give it up. Get a new VFR and keep those parts.

All accidents are bad but it sounds like you came out pretty good. Give it some time and see how you feel.

Feel better soon and get back on the horse!

Glad your okay man, in the end that's all that matters. I'm sure there was a couple other bike ideas floating around in your head. Now you can make em happen if you so desire. Make sure she gets punished. Make her buy you a new 1198S or something.

Everyone has the right to be stupid, but that woman is definitely abusing the privilege, and that should cost her. As has been said, the really important thing is that you weren't seriously hurt in this fiasco. I hope you heal up quickly and get back to riding soon.

Or save the money and buy a new bike.

Glad your ok! Been there, done that and it sucks. Look back on the experience and see what you could have done to prevent it. I know it was the other persons fault. But you have to take action for the other idiots on the road to stay alive.

Hope things work out for the good for you.

If I crashed my bike right now I would lay down and die.
    Glad you're all right.

Glad you are alright my friend.

I was on my 98 black VFR at a stop light and was rear ended by a car going 60kmh early in May. I was also very lucky and only had scrapes and bruises. The frame was broken and the bike was written off. I bought a 99 yellow VFR one week later and drove it home from Toronto to the Niagara Peninsula. I was a bit timid getting on it again. I didn't want anyone around me when I was riding and was contantly looking behind me. Still working through that and this past weekend, I was almost 100% confident about riding. Don't give up. Again, so glad to hear you are okay.

Sorry to hear about your experience. Stories like this sure take the luster out of saving the planet one gallon at a time. Glad you are okay and hope the insurance makes you whole so you can buy as good or better bike.

I've had a few incidents of people running red lights recently. When I honk my horn at them I get the finger back. Kind of makes you want to bring up the gun carrying thread again. I sure get tired of the bullies in bigger vehicles here in the DC area. Good luck and don't give up on riding.

Sorry to hear that my friend,, the bike is just machinery, it can be replaced. You, on the otherhand cannot be replaced; I'm really glad that "your" physical damage is as low as it is.

You'll heal up and come back I'm sure,, besides, TV really sucks nowdays.

Well guys thanks so much for the good thoughts I will eventually get another bike and I'm going to try hard to make it a VFR new or as new as I can find!

For all of you wondering the Sargent seat did not survive but I do have the other things for sale that I put in my original post! They are all 99 5th Generation stuff so that the spirit of my baby can live on!

At least she remained at the scene. I'll give her that much credit. It's pretty easy for a cager with no morals (no insurance, no visa, outstanding warrants) to take off into the sunset after a car-bike crash.

Dude - sorry to hear about your crash, that really sucks! A tip - remember for the insurance meeting that the first job of the aduster is to deny or lowball all claims! Then they sit back to see if how you react and if you wont fight back. Good luck!

    MD

How much for the rear wheel?
