I just wanted to pass on my thanks to any of you that serve, or know someone that serves in any of our armed forces branches, police, fire, EMT's and so on.

I was never in the service, but I appreciate all that these folks do for me.

I lost one friend in the WTC wreckage.

I know there are countless others out there, but I just wanted to say Thanks.
It may not seem sincere coming over an internet forum, but I mean it. God bless you all.

It still does make us feel appreciated. I will pass your thanks on to my son, who should be returning from Iraq in a month, and my daughter training at her base in VA. And I will say you are welcome, as a vet, it's what we do.

As a flight nurse I can honestly say people in public service are most always proud to be able to help.
If you could ask one of those lost helping with the rescue if they would do it again. The answer would be, "If I could save one life by giving mine...Hell YEAH!"

    Thanks guys.

Thanks to all that serve us !!!! My prayers go out to all the victims included in the attack on innocent people, also to the heros in the PA plane flight 93, they fought for us all....:thumbsup:today the anniversary of the cowards from the middle east celebrating in the streets passing out candy. I have the sept 12th paper showing palestinians celebrating this ...:mad:as a reminder of how the world truely hates our freedoms and our democracey no matter how messed up it is sometimes...I will not show this picture,, in my saved newspaper, but it pisses my the F off everytime i look at it...:mad:I truely feel the U.S.A. can drill our own oil to stop the funding of these bastards...and use more natural gas thats another topic. Bush kept us safe from harm since then and I hope Obama does as well.......My opinion today should be a holiday to forever remind the new generations of the future about the dangers from Muslems..also I heard Sept 25th muslems will gather in DC to pray..once again flexing their muscle and giving us the middle finger due to liberial mindsets saying everyone has their rights to do what every they want..Bullshit terrorist religion idealogies have no place in America....And If you are not a citizen or married to one you do not have our rights..Thank you once again to all troops and men in blue and firefighters !!!!!:usa2:

Also a great thanks to all those people who were not a memebr of any service. I am sure many ordinary Joe people did extraordinary things in the aftermath of this disaster.

Thanks to the people abroad who opened up their heart to all those US citizens that found themselves unable to go home for a few days immediately after. We must remember the skies were shut down and borders locked up tight for a while.

To the heath care heroes who are still dealing with the aftermath.

But yes. To our Armed Forces for sure.

I think based on my family's service it is obvious that I am not supporting in anyway what happened on Sept. 11th; however, lets remember the Muslim faith is not to blame here, it is Muslim RADICALS, just like there are Christian radicals that do crazy things also, I don't see us painting all of them with the same brush...

I actually ride with the PGR BECAUSE of some Christian radicals in this country...

The Muslim radicals who perpetrated the atrocities of Sept. 11th, and many other atrocities as well, and continue to do so, should all be given an opportunity to meet their maker; but then again so should all the other radicals who perpetrate atrocities on others, regardless of their religious affiliations.

Just a word of caution, this country was founded on the principle of religious freedom, it is one of the fundamental rights that our service members fight and die to protect, don't throw it aside so callously...

    Guys,
As one President once said of another tragedy,"this day will go down in infamy."
In one fell swoop the New York Fire Department lost 346 of their own men and women. I was off duty from my home town Fire Department, I am retired from Fire Service myself....how quickly this gets pushed back to the second page of the "B"section....I know that there were Police workers and regular Joes helping out in the aftermath.....and Lord don't let me or anyone else forget the sacrafices the Military make ,some the ultimate for our country....you just dont hear about Fire Fighters dying in the line of duty...but they do and the cowardly
way this atrocity was done to us cant be justified, and it can't be forgotten those me would I wager my life do it all over again...for their town, their Brothers ans Sisters.....Don't let it be forgotten..I can't...Thanks to the original poster....

Rest assured the Firefighters are most respected people. In my books they are probably the most noble profession out there. Simply put, all they do is try to help people. No politics, no agenda. Such profession was high on my list but I had another calling. Thank you very much!

But...leave the friggen cat in the tree. I'm tired of them shit'n in my garden.

this is the best that i have available on the web... but i have a slightly better pic on the computer in my truck. this is on one end of the Fire Fighter's Memorial on the side of "10 House".

FDNY Station 10 is DIRECTLY across the street from the WTC site. When we visited NYC in 2007, we went to the WTC site which was then (and still is?) under reconstruction. The massive scale of this is mind boggling. The fact that 10 House remained standing as well as the other surrounding structures is amazing. Despite the fact that they lost all 6 of the fire fighters on duty that day from their station, their sacrafice will never be forgotten.

I strongly recommend that if you tour NYC and you find yourself in the area of the WTC, visit 10 House. There is a memorial inside the station. They will let you in to see it in most cases. They also sell shirts and such as a fundraiser.

Some in Northern Ireland may not agree with you on this point. And that is Christian against Christian. It is really a sad state of affairs...everywhere...is it not?

I do not follow any faith. I simply believe we should all do what is humanly possible to assist anyone in need. That belief has served me well for some 40 + years now. Before that I was too young to have an opinion.

hmmm, the crusades......kill the moors? does that sound familiar? wasn't done with bombs and bullets but the principle is still the same... have you ever interacted with a muslim? the ones I know are peaceful AMERICAN citizens, that wept openly the day the towers fell. I defended a store clerk from two redneck assholes that wanted to "string him up" because he "looked like an arab."

so painting all muslims with as broad a stroke as you are, is pretty ignorant . open your eyes a bit and pull the blinders off.

Wow, we must have more in common than I thought, because I have said the same thing about and to you...

I have; I have studied many religions for the last 24 years or so. As I've said to you before; instead of simply believing the fringe element you get your slanted opinions (which you believe to be facts) from, you really should learn things for yourself. Regurgitating what you hear on talk radio/Rush/Fox News/etc. does not make you enlightened, or even just educated...

But, I think others have already made my point.

Now why you wanna go and get me started? First off, the 'M' in Marine is capitalized, I know they didn't teach that in the A(ren't) R(eady to be) M(arines) Y(et), but you'll note I will even capitalize all 4 letters for the Army (above).

Second, here's all I have to say about our friendly inter-service rivalry:
