While I was sitting on the side of the road waiting for the ambulance, I was thinking of what parts I would need and trying to add up in my head how much it was going to cost me. Then the adrenaline rush wore off….

Thanks again for all of the suggestions!

I think it was the temporary sudden stop of the front wheel in a ditch while the rear wheel wanted to keep going forward. Guess I couldn't beat Newton's First Law of Motion.

Do you have full coverage insurance? Any progress on locating parts?

    Regards,
    Rollin

    Rollin:

No comp coverage. I'm about $1500 into the rebuild right now. I bought a bunch of parts from Service Honda. Got a used radiator/fan motor/fan/fan mount from eBay and installed it today. Good condition and holding pressure. Its not turning on but the fan runs when I connect it to the battery - seems like the switch. I'll swap with the switch in the busted radiator. Otherwise, I have the seat rails and cowl stay installed and waiting for a pile of parts to arrive. I should be finished in about a week. Not bad if I may say so myself considering the accident was three weeks ago today.

THANKS AGAIN for all the help guys!

Man sorry about the accident. I think its awsome that you are getting back on the horse . I got to meet with JBz and lovethewater last year down at Boomtown. What a blast. Hope to meet you and the rest of the N. O. crew and even go for a ride with you and your bionic bike (you can rebuild her, faster, stronger). Get better, heal fast and see you on the road.

Stock exhaust is too twisted to get it straight so it hangs in the correct position and does not hit the frame.

Anyone looking to sell an aftermarket set-up?????:smile::smile:

DANIMAL: Thanks for the stock exhaust and clutch lever!

Once the plastics are on, I'm just about done!

I got a whole set of plastics off one of the Hong Kong Ebay sellers (Timmy66666). I got the Repsol paint scheme for $530 shipped and it was delivered to my door only 10 days after ordering. It took Service Honda longer to get my other parts to me!

My mechanic had to do a little tweaking to get them on perfectly, but they look great! The paint is very nice and glossy and the kit came with everything except a windscreen, seat cowl and nuts and bolts. We decided not to use the black plastic that came for the area around the gauges, but for $530 who cares. BTW, there are a lot of kits for the 6th gens too. The tank and seat cowl are being painted this week and I'll post up some pics later.

Glad to hear you're OK and good luck brother! I know how it is.
