just purchased a 84 interceptor with 6000mi, bike was in honda crate untill 7 years ago,all fluids changed, upper oil kit put on from mile 0,bike still has origanal brake pads how much better braking if i put on hh pads is it worth it, after having a few vfr 800 s the old 750 brakes seem pretty weak have bleed system and i can never lock up front end. thanks
prob not man. Brake fluid does degrade more overtime and with heat etc so i would flush the system before i bought pads. Its not a turn of the century sport bike so maybe you could be being abit critical of the bike.
1984 interceptor brakes have changed out brake fluid with synthetic 1 week ago ,bled system,i have had many bikes from 70s up just not in recent years ,seem to me that with a good pull i should be able to lock up the front end.
It's not the fluid. Take your brake calipers off and take a good look at them and the way they are mounted. They have pins they slide on and under the rubber boots they have collars that slide. Most likely all those parts are corroded and not working properly. So your brakes suck. When the brakes are working right you should be able to do a stoppie and pick the rear wheel off the ground. Acouple of inches anyways. Buy yourself a factory manual. Then RTFM. Possible pucks sticking in caliper?
