Well, This year is running out fast. I might take a road trip during Christmas Holiday. I probably drive with the kids and have the bike in the back incase I need it

Yosemite gets snow - lots of it.
Mid June and Tioga Pass (sp?) still had mounts of snow (plowed off the road)

If somebody doesnt pick a date soon I have STRONG doubts that Yosemite is going to happen......

(Sorry; guess i'm in a "glass half empty mood" ..... what with missing the SAN BBQ (SecretAsianMan BBQ) :frown:

yeah, I can too but it's getting chilly here at night so I'm guessing yosemite is even moreso. I get every other weekend off. So that means I work this weekend as I was at your place last weekend... So how is the weekend after that for you? I might be able to do it then if my wife doesn't kill me. I may need to give her some extra special time to pull this one off since I was gone for four days...

well I did some checking and it's be pretty sketchy for me to do it on the 17th and 18th cause we'd have to ride up one day and back the next... as I am working both Friday and Monday... the next time I am off and available is in November and it might be pretty cool up there then...

    Thoughts?

Also back to next SLO gathering, we are leaning to May. I am going to chat with wife more about it and when we pick some dates, I'll start a new thread to hype it.

    Sound good

Just let me know when can you get out for Yosemite.......Doesn't have to be riding. I might just ride up there with my kids for camping for the weekend. Redwood is I really want to see.
As for Slo V gathering in May sound real good how about on the memorial weekend? We can head out to Yosemite as well.:thumbsup:

Maybe not the Holiday weekend (family stuff) but May does sound good for SLO V or is it 4.5??? It shouldn't be too hot and less of a chance it will rain.

Ok. Yosemite date is chosen. Terri and I will be there Oct 16th late then leave Oct 18th. We are still debating whether it will be on the bike or not. My rear tire is done after Long's BBQ and Terri is not a fan of long motorcycle rides. We have already booked a condo, though, so we'll be there whether you clowns back out or not...

Ok, we will be in Yosemite West. Best I can tell from the map Terri brought home we will be near #18

there are a lot of places around there I think. I don't think I'll be taking the bike. Getting off work when it'll already be cool and Terri says she just can't handle riding that far then riding it to get around the park. If I change my mind, I'll txt you.

Ok, I have more info on yosemite. It's called scenic wonders and we'll be on dogwood lane in the condo. here's their website: Yosemite Lodging | Yosemite Cabins | Yosemite National Park Lodging | Yosemite Vacations If you look at their .pdf map, you can see dogwood lane where the condos we are staying in. They are pretty small but the rates aren't too awful and it's fairly close to yosemite valley.

Ok, I'm currently printed the guide that the forest rangers put together for what to do in Yosemite. Were you talking about the sequoia groves in the forest there? we really only have one day to do the tourist thing so we are thinking we'll just grab some groceries on the way in and then pack lunch with us and try to use the shuttle system to see as much as possible in one day. We can always run into the next day a little bit if we have to see something else. When are you coming up?

Soon as you firm up that May 29 - 31 date of Slo 2010 I will book vacation time. I haven't done anything yet that Homeland Seurity will keep me out of your back yard.

doyou think a holiday weekend is good? last time we did that everyone had plans... I expect we'd get a whole lot of "I'm coming for sure..." then backing out at the last minute when the spouses start saying "I told my sister we'd BBQ"... Of course, it wouldn't really hurt my feelings anyway. I have a good time in big or small groups... Hell if just you showed up, I bet we'd still have a good time just hanging out and telling lies after riding all day...

and as far as a button, it's ok with me... maybe we can find a spacey angle of that rotunda or something around here that would look pretty cool. who is good with that kind of stuff? of course, we could do some kind of t-shirt then you could say 'been there, done that...got the t-shirt..."
