I have been waiting for years to see a new VFR. Sold my '06 last month and finally today I actually see the 2010 officially released, love it and sounds like a great replacement for my long gone '06.

anybody else see the official release yet.

I might be mistaken, but I think Honda is going to have a VFR 800 and a VFR 1200. I might be wrong. I thought I saw it somewhere not too long ago.

I sure hope so. At 591 lbs wet.... It's 31 lbs heavier than a K1300. I want the 800 back, sans VTEC.

That would be ideal. I have no interest in the 1200 - the looks, the technology or the displacement.

Is this Honda's reaction to losing magazine comparos against the F800ST? Abandon the class?

did honda ever lose a comparo to the BMW? I must have missed it. The last one I read said that while the F800 was a great bike, it just didn't live up to the fit and finish of the VFR...

The excellent UK magazine "Bike" strongly favored it. But then Euros look at riding differently than Americans, who tend to favor the smoother, revvier V4 and ignore the 70 lbs the gen6 VFR800 gives up to F800ST. Looking at BMW vs. Honda of late, the Beemers seem to be trimming down and the Hondas not. Maybe that's just a price factor, with BMW using more expensive alloys? The new-to-USA NT700V (Deauville) is a great example. It weighs exactly as much as an R1200RT (~590 lbs), which is a much "bigger" touring bike. The ST1300 is ~110 lbs heavier, at over 700 lbs! Compared to an ST, of course, the VFR1200 is light. Maybe that's all Honda cares about.

    Italian Bike Mag

I just got back from the old country and picked up this magazine because the new Viffer was mentioned on the cover.

It says it arrives next January. Will it be a beast or a pig?

I took a test ride on a BMW F800ST and I thought it was totally under powered, way, way, less power than my '08 VFR. No comparison. Even though it is a nice bike otherwise....
