I'm having an issue while reading the forums. Every few minutes the screen locks, then I get a bubble that reads "A problem with this web page caused Internet Explorer to close and reopen the tab." Then, of course, the annoying Windows error reporting boxes, etc.

I don't have this problem on any other web sites. WTH?!?!???

The forum has some quirks and hiccups every now and again, but it is free....

It seems to run great on my comp with Interwebz Exploder 7, Exploder 8....not so good. Firefox or Goggle Chrome seem to get the most press as the best browser for this site.

Try downloading and using Mozilla Firefox. Usually much better for general use anyway.

Firefox does work great with this site along with Safari. Right now I'm posting from my PS3 with no issues. If you're on a Blackberry ever Bolt is the way to go.

+1. IE and this site run like crap together. Well, IE runs like crap most the time anyway.

hmm, well there is an update to the software that we have been discussing. we may to go ahead and go for it. it's possible it addresses some of these issues. I don't seem to have any trouble when I run exploder or firefox or safari, or at least not any major issues. it's possible the other sites you visit don't make as much use of scripts and such or maybe it's something else altogether... we'll keep trying...

Sorry Mr Den. We'll try to see if there is anything else that we can do on our end.

Myself, I rarely ever have an issue with the forum. Once in a bluemoon it locks up, but so does my local news website. Hmmmmmmm...

I still have the same problem as the OP. Extreamly frustrating. It only happens on pages of VFRW that have the chat window. Once IE has closed the page and reloaded it, I can stay on that page without problems. But once I navigate to another VFRW page with the chat window, it'll lock up again. After the 3rd time, it won't reload the tab and you have to relog in.

I like VFRW that I would consider changing browsers but...

no one wants to consider that some of us are on PC's owned by our employer and don't have the liberty to do so. Our CRM software uses Interwebz Exploder :pout:

The Chat program has always given us a bunch of issues. I think most people enjoy having it, but it definitely causes some instability with the site. Just as a heads up, there's a major upgrade coming soon, and it will probably include a new chat program. So stay tuned, and hopefully any issues you are experiencing will be resolved soon. :)

didn't think about it being the chat. I am a member of the 'disable chat' group so my VFRW experience runs much faster. If I want to chat, I open it up in another tab and read msgs in one tab then glance over to the other that has the chat so I don't have to load chat at the top of every message area...

Complain, complain, complain....all we ever hear is bitchin' and complainin'! How about some "Golly gee, this site is the best (albeit with some chat glitches) and I it helps me from sticking my finger in my eye and swirling it around in my brain from utter boredom!" How about some props like....this site helped me make friends" or "I joined VFRW and all I got was crabs!".....wait, maybe the last one was a personel experience...nevermind. Just giving you a hard time boss!

Join and give us your money as an Insider, that way you can still complain, but we will have your money....wahahaha.

As Michael stated, ever since we started chat it does give problems now and again, and again. Kinda a catch 21 for now until we get the new software and that hopefully that resolves the issue(s).

BTW....do you have Exploder 8? Heard that is giving it folks a bit of a tissy. I think I have exploder 7, and no probs for me.....except rare occasions.

I would be happy to try that workaround. When I first started coming around here I wanted to disable that window but couldn't find the switch. Now I'm a chat addict and my work sufferes. But if you could let me know whether I need to cut the blue wire or the red one, I'd be good-to-go!

Now you've gone and hurt my very last feeling :pout: But since it started locking up on me, the finger in the brain has become an option
