Great pictures! Looks like a great trip.

I had to move my VFR to the back of the garage and put the snowblower in it's place! :frown: Not a big fan of this time of year however the days are getting longer so Spring is near!

    Thanks for sharing!

    Joe,

Great pictures, great ride, and a great bike. I have driven quite a bit of US 395 on some hiking trips to Yosemite and Mount Whitney. And I always wished I was on my bike.

Nice pics and ride report. Thanx for sharing. I've ridden most of those roads, though it was around twenty years ago when I was stationed is SoCal.

    Joe:

Many thanks for sharing the delightful pictures. You can imagine my envy when I mention that it was 9 degrees at my home in Connecticut when I read your piece this morning.

I thought I recognized the geography (and windmill farm). About ten years ago I spent two weeks in Mojave taking a course at the National Test Pilot School. Pretty area for biking!

As you're probably aware, options abound (Gen Mar, Heli Bar, LSL Spiegler) for raising the handlebars. I put Heli Bars on my 07 the first month I had it. Easy to install and very effective. It's amazing what moving the bars up and back about and inch and a half will do for comfort.

One other suggestion is that you might want to re-post this piece in the "Maps & Routes" section. Where it is now in the General Discussion section will get pushed back by successive posts and, for practical purposes, be lost. If it's in the Maps & Routes, folks who are looking to see where others are riding are much more likely to find it.

I second the suggestion that you go out for a ride about every two weeks and post some photos so that those of us in the lest bike-friendly weather areas can share the ride, even if only vicariously.

    Thanks again,
    Bob S.

Nice pics/bike/ride! I've been in/around that neck of the woods a few times, just never on a bike. Even with bad, this is just another reason why I couldn't live any place other than California. Thanks...

Thank you very much for posting this ride! I have to wait about two months (at least) before I will be able to do a ride like that! Hell, I would pay $10 / per gallon to be able to do that ride now...........

next time you get out that far maybe we can meet somewhere. I live in atascadero but often I'll head inland and ride a bit depending on the weather. Scratch is busted at the moment, but I expect I'll have her rideable in the next few days...

looking at the picture riding 39mph in neutral in the road picture, oil lite is on, engine is dead. I"m coasting. I threw the bike in neutral, hit the off button, and by the time I got my camera out, and took the pic I was doing 39 mph.
thats all. I guess I could have gone 140, then done the same thing to get a shot at 100mph, but I'm not trying to impress anyone with my skills, it was just a moment I thought to take a picture, because the road was straight.

thanks to everyone for all the positive comments about the pictures, I'll try and post up more, next time I can.
