Well, I have put around 85 miles on my '98. I must say the more I ride, the more I enjoy! Getting used to the nimbleness and quickness has taken some getting used to. It corners great! I noticed that at 87 miles my tank shows 1/2 full now. Is that about right or a little low? I also have noticed that at idle my rpm gauge shows between 1000 -1500 and bounces with the cadence of the engine at 1250 rpm moving up and down just a trace. Is this normal? I found in the back of the owner's manual were the previous owner has kept tire and oil and filter change info.

I noticed that he used a Rotella synthetic at occasions with a purolater filter.
What do you guys recommend for oil and filters?

Best mileage I've got out of mine is 5.2L/100Km but that's absolutely babying it on a highway, usual speeding not incompetence kills holiday blitz:rolleyes:. Running 91RON with 10% ethanol (87PON in american numbers) Obviously throttle use dictates fuel consumption.

I'm running a genuine filter and honda HP4 in mine at present. Gear shift feel has noticeably improved over whatever oil was in it. Helps mileage as well. Haven't tried other oils in it yet.

If you're enjoying it now, wait until you really get used to the bike...............nothing like rounding up the latest and greatest on an old bike.

I got 250kms out of the tank(i just bought a few weeks back) and was happy with that- then i realised that its a 21 litre tank not an 18 so i had 3 litres or reserve left! Then i realised the air filter in it was the dirtiest ive ever seen. Will post reults when i have them- idling is normal unless its very lumpy!
