starter clutch provlem

    hello everybody. got a problem i think. my vfr 750 f2 starter clutch was broken . so i bought one used. the problem is that they are not quite the same and i don't know if i got to do some modification or it would work the way the new starter clutch is now. i put some pictures so if can somebody help me i would appreciate it.

    first picture is the good one and the second the broken one.

    can you discribe what is broken on the org one. the ring gear ( toothed gear )
    The tabs on the side give the signal to the pulse gen, I don't think the new on will work.
    but you might be able to take the cover off the old one and put on the new one if it is just the gear that is broken.

    do you have a manual for your bike that has a break down of the starter clutch?

    based on what I see in the pics on the other thread I would say no.
    w/o having the parts in hand to see if it can be broken down further.
    the new one you have, will send different signals to the post generator then the org one.

    you can send Gareth_VFR a PM to see if he can take a look at your thread, as I am sure others will chime in as well soon.
