Well BB, Harry doesn't mind if he doesn't make the scene, he's got a daytime job and is doing alright.

Harry, if anyone really cares, is a used guitar salesman.

I am a professional saxophonist. Been playing for over thirty years. Music and motorcycling are the two things in life that help me keep my sanity!

Hopefully one of the non-players wil not misinterpret your post and PM you for phone sax.

Heck yes Guitar Hero counts. I've made more money in Guitar Hero contests than I have freelance trumpet playing. Plus, you get some funny looks cruising down the street on your bike with a GH guitar slung around your back.

In the exact same boat as you my friend. I have a 1978 Ibanez Law Suit Strat as well as a 2005 Fender American Deluxe HSS Strat in Chrome Red. Been using Guitar Rig on the computer for the past years rather than my Line 6 amp.

    Tasty brother, thanks!

That Guttermouth tune spun me into the mood for NOFX, Randy and some Iggy Pop!

He only sells used gutars because he has to pay the lawyer for the "ben-wah ball" suit against him.

Jason. I really like that one on the left. Being a woodworker, seeing anything made with wood turns my crank. I wonder how difficult it would be to make one. Can you picture a similar guitar made with solid rosewood? Man I am slobbering now. One of these days I am going to get the son to teach me the guitar. He has already said "Sure" he would only charge me half what he charges others. I told him room and board just went up.

Played drums as a kid and recently bought a new kit (Mapex Meridian) and started to get back in the groove! I like all music (mostly), but as you can tell by the avatar, RUSH moves me the most. I was happy to read Nugboy's (er, um, a, Buddha...) appreciation of Peart and Bruford. Throw in Moon, Baker & Bonham and life is quite good...

It is Rock Band for me... Drums. Been playing so much went so far as to buy the Drumrocker kit by ION. I am much better than I used to be when I started about a year ago, but I still kind of suck. Can only do about 60% of the songs on expert. However, it has gotten me interested in actually trying to play real drums. If only I did not live in a townhouse... darn neighbors.

No Bluegrass players around here? I have been playing the Banjo (Scruggs Style) for about 10 years now. I guess living in Tennessee might have something to do with it. **Bluegrass, the worlds fastest music**

Great to read you post Par518! I just drove to work with Rush spinning in the CD player. If you haven't read all of Peart's books and columns (on his website) you owe it to yourself. He is such a well-rounded man. Bill Bruford's autobio is outstanding as well...it is for anyone that loves music. Great insights. Anytime you want to chat about drummers I am up for it. I have a huge Pearl birch set in natural finish...gorgeous! (Oh, and if you haven't tried a DrumPort yet, BUY ONE!)

And Bubba!!! What a post. Thanks for your feedback. I loved your perspective. Music is such a hard-to-pin-down thing. Is there any art that is more personal? I have always been amazed at how strongly we all feel about tunes...the stuff we love and the stuff we hate...fascinating. Ever read reviews on your favorite album (like on Amazon)? Some people chime in along with your feelings and then other people HATE what you love. And it has ALWAYS been this way...back in the 1800's people reviled things that are held in high esteem today. You (as an artist) cannot please everyone. It is best to march to your own drum beat. To me, the only sin is when you rip yourself off!

Absolutely! Music is such a personal thing. Here's a short list of some of my favorite bands. Some you may have heard of and some you won't.

    Hipster Daddy-O and the Handgrenades
    The Atomic Fireballs
    Lee Press-On and the Nails
    Big Bad Voodoo Daddy
    Ingrid Lucio and the Neutrinos
The Eddie Reed Big Band (classy stuff here)
    Royal Crown Revue
    anything by Duke Robillard
    Ronnie Earl
    B B King

and the list goes on. I play a wide variety of music, but am partial to anything pre-1940s (which may explain my collection of archedtops). I grew up as a trumpet player all through school. I was in every band available. It's where I learned to read music. I sold the horn years ago and now concentrate on the guitars and building tube amplifiers. Sometimes I regret selling the horn.
