one of my fork seals is leaking. a shop told me they could replaces the seals and fork bushings or something and the parts and labor for both forks would be 300 bucks. i though of doing it with a friend who knows about it. would do i need to fix this problem? the seals, bushings and fork oil? there are springs also and should i replace them? and can anyone give me some info on where i can find the items i need?
All the info you need is the service manual. How many miles on your bike ?? Basically you need OEM Honda seals, fork oil, new washers for the bottom bolts, and beyond that maybe bushings or springs if they have sagged down to a shorter than acceptable length. IF fork oil got on your brakes, replace pads and thoroughly clean rotor. Doing it without reference to the service manual is probably a mistake. Your local dealer or an online supplier can sell you whatever OEM parts you need.
