With out going into the sob story, today was the first time in 6 or 7 weeks I've been able to get any significant time on my bike. (I've only owned it for 9 weeks) Woke up this morning and enough of the pain had subsided that I had to give it a try. Spent about two hours cruzing around southern NH. That bike really is a thrill to ride. Figure now I've got only two weeks before the snow flys and the bike goes into teh basement. (sigh!) I'm paying for the ride a bit now, but well worth the price of admission!

BTW, I wasworking on perfecting the clamp your legs on the tank to take pressure off your hands thing, and had some success, but once I took my hands off the grips to get blood flow back in my hands. Whan the bike slowed past 43 MPH the front end started to wobble like mad. My front tire is scalopped so I know it is out of balance, but is this normal?

I'd have to agree with legs on that one. I would pull that tire off and try static balancing it. IF you can't get it decent, I'd opt for a new one but I'd wait if you are planning on storing the bike for winter...

scalloped tires can happen to anybody ,as far as being normal on the vfr it is not something that happens regularly and as far as i know it has more to do with how you ride and the tires wear in relation to that.
