Make sure you have positve battery voltage at the black/white wire connector in the ignition unit (unplug it and test harness) with the key on.

I have to ask.....gen 1 had two CDI's and gen 2 had a single CDI but was two CDI's in one and would fail half the engine when failed and was a good trouble shooting tip. Were the later gens set up the same way? Never had an issue with gen 3 or 4 CDI so I am curious if if they will drop two cylinders or if they will drop them all if it is the fault.

Do this....hook everything up and run a jumper wire from the POS battery terminal to the BLK/WH wire in each connector to the CDI boxes and try to start the bike....

if it fires up the ground is ok...disconnect that jumper and run the jumper to the BLK/WH wire on the run/kill switch and try and start it.....

if it fires up all connectors/wires/ground is ok...disconnect that jumper and run the jumper to the BLK wire running from the start switch to the kill switch and try and start it....

if it runs then the BLK wire running from the start switch is bad....

Thanks for the replies guys. Ok so..lol what the heck is a CDI and were is it located? Im guessing the CDI mean something like Current Discharge Ignition?? Has to be like a ignition box right? And when u say a jumper wire, u mean a totally seperate wire hooked up to my pos term to the B/W, correct?
