Except those things are NOT "custom". Corbin seats are made specifically for each bike. They should fit properly without modification. A "bolt on part" is not custom.

You know in a perfect world I would agree with you 100%, ...but then in the world I know, the Better business bureau is busier then ever, and I can't tell you how many things I've purchased that are not what I expected. Always something!

It is possible to get a good saddle from them. You need to BITCH, not that they care.
I started on this forum with a good rant about Corbin and their lack of customer service.
Years later, I am a satisfied customer. My work is physcal, and give me pain that only the VFR can cure.
Would I go through it all again. Ask me when I buy my next bike-

So how come the Corbin always seems to have issues with fitment and Sargent goes on like a OEM seat. Me thinks Corbin may have some Quality control issues.
Sargent seats are great but they can also custon fit your behind . Corbin just has a bad rep for both fitment and customer service.

If you are interested in nice seats..... And dont want Sargent or Corbin, Check these out.

This is a dusty thread but...I've had a few Corbin seats on my '99 and none of them would latch out of the box. Remove the loop that goes in to the seat latch and space it out with some washers and longer bolts and it will latch. I've had to do that with every Corbin seat. And the rubber bumpers will still compress and split over time.

I bough a Corbin for the SV some years ago (at least 6, I think...), and it did arrive when they said it would. The mounting bracket looked like it was made by a first year metal shop student, and not a very good student. I did get it to fit, and it is much better than the stocker, but next time I'll give Sargent a try. For the money I spent, I was disappointed with the overall quality.

I bought mine with a Corbin on it, the first owner must have had a bigger butt, the seat is harder than the stock seat (I have it) and the “bump” sits too far back for me. My butt goes numb on one side after about 2 hours, closely followed by the thing that sits on my neck. I emailed them to as how much to refit and re-stuff with Temperfoam, Only $305.00, no thanks. It sometimes doesn’t latch well so I started using the stock seat and it came loose more often, so back to the Corbin. I think my seat latch has been miss aligned by beating the seat down to latch. Thinking about taking it to an upholsterer and have it re covered and more padding. To by new I would try the Sergeant.
