I normally get 38mpg. K&N, PCIII, and Laser exhaust.

Yesterday I got 25mpg riding it like I stole it for 100 miles. Average speed was about 80mph and rarely was I any higher than 3rd gear. That was a lot of fun. The VFR can actually feel like a R6 with the VTEC kick...minus 50mph. Good new rubber and low humidity with the gf in tow on her 636 was a blast!

Only ran two tanks through my used '07, but thus far am very pleased with the mileage results. First tank was 47.5 and the second 46+mpg. I rarely hit the VTEC, only to see what it was all about. Also most of the miles where freeway running between 65-80mph.

My numbers are still holding up (35-40 ish) I'm at 24k on my 06.

50/50 commuting and weekend back roads.

Still running mostly stock. Synthetic oil, 87 octane. The 93 octane still causes elevated temps in the hot summer temps. I run a t ank or two every now and then mostly cause my cars use 93 and it is habit to select it.

I average 43mpg on my '07 commuting at least 60+ miles a day with 5000 miles on the bike . I have seen 50mpg a few times. Planning a Saddle Sore 1000 in August. I'll let you know how that turns out.

Anyone seen better/worse mileage depending on octane of fuel?

I'm averaging 41.7mpg over 4475, and that's a mix of everything. I just finished a 4 day trip covering 681.6 miles and got 46.3 mpg average.

New member here. I had a 2002 and then I sold it quite a few years ago. I signed up here to do some research as I think I'm going to jump back in. Anyway, I found this thread and found it interesting and disturbing. I know mileage will vary because of riding habits. I'm also wondering how much the ECU change in 2006 effects the mileage. When I had my 2002 I was getting 48 - 51.5 MPG. Towards the end around 7,200 miles I was getting 44 - 48 MPG. I know that matches some on here, but not many. Anyway, for those looking at the older 6th gens, that is what I was getting.

I regret not asking for and compiling certain stats that make a big difference. For example I have noticed the size of the rider and the amount of wind and drag makes a huge difference. I'm guessing most of us who are 200lbs with broad shoulders are taking a beating in mileage where those with less height, weight and wind frontage are doing better. My riding styles from aggressive to very reserved doesn't make that much of a difference. I did however notice a difference after installing my new MRA windscreen though, I've gone up about 30+ km a tank, around 2-4mpg. That result was expected as I no longer am feeling the wind pressure on my shoulders and chest.

If anything this thread can be used to track the health of your bike if all else fails.

It is amazing how different the mileage is between riders on the same bike. I try to be consistent in how I fill the tank, put it up on the center stand and fill until the gas reaches the bottom of the put it in hole. I zero the counter and do the exact same thing next time and just do the math. The best I have seen is 45.2, the worst is 41, average is 43.2 I live on twisty roads and seldom see freeway. One thing we might look at is posture and how tall you are. Do you like to sit up or get more behind the wind screen (for a lack of a better term) The faster I go the more I get behind the WS, sit up at slower speeds. Where I drive there are a lot of trees by the road, even on windy days I don't get pushed around much. I also don't get into VTEC unless I'm passing. I'm about 210 with gear, and don't have bags on the side, only a tank bag. The 45 mpg was going up to 7500ft and back, I'm thinking most of us are going to be below 2500ft most of the time. We should all fill up, drive 100mi on flat straight stuff at 65, and see how we compare; wind and altitude would be a factor, also how much of you hang in the breeze. It would be like VFR Myth Busters!! There is your assignment for the coming year!

Lately the roar of the mighty V4 has made me feel like a Moto GP rider and the tank range has reflected. I live on empty backroads so I've been filling up every ~130 miles. 28mpg The rear tire went from looking good to shredded after just a few rides. It already had 3k miles or so on it but still. If only the suspension was better...

There could be a VFRW get together in that.

Mate, if there was a bridge between AU and USA, I would be on it!! I'm only an honorary Ausie, check the location. Have a mate in Gladstone, saving for a holiday with him, kids will be gone soon so more money to go with!!
