    Hi everyone,

I have just purchased my Blue Gen 5 VFR800.

It has always been my dream bike. I am looking to change the exhaust from stock..

I like micron mufflers and it appears thay have a hi rise kit to mount it higher.

Does anyone have any recommendations on where to source just the hi-rise pipe so I can fit the muffler of my choice.

The only things I have seen so far is the staintune and micron setups.

My bike won't in my eyes be complete until the rear wheel is exposed and I can take full advantage of how nice the single swing arm makes a bike look..

P.S. I am not looking for underseat, just high rise with a single muffler..

    I'd appreciate your feedback.

I picked up a Remus high mount carbon (Grand Prix) off ebay for $450 landed...brand new. I looked for ages until something came up...rare as rocking-horse s#@t. It was worth the wait & sounds amazing. Just keep your eyes peeled & something will come up. Also try wreckers, etc. Good luck.

    Thanks VFRod

    Hi everyone,

I have managed to find a link to the only link pipe I have seen anywhere..

HONDA VFR800 LINK PIPE ALL MODELS EXCEPT V-TEC - Detailed item view - Predator Motorsport Ltd

I have just emailed them to confirm it is correct for my model + pricing.

Its a lot to spend for a piece of pipe but at least I can choose my silencer.

Micron said "We have standard mounts in stock, but high mounts are sold out forever..."

I guess they don't plan to sell the link pipe any time soon

Hope this info helps others trying to find hi rise link pipes.

    :) will do.

If I get the all clear from them tonight I'll order it tomorrow. Now I just need to decide on the silencer.

    Any suggestions?

P.S. I am leaning towards 2 brothers style modern pipes. I think the staintune is great but i'e like to have a pipe that is not in stainless or chrome type of finish..

Hindle still makes the high pipe sold seperatly as well, See my picture. They come machine finish but some time polishing will cure that.

I think the Staintune is over priced & does not sound as good as most people think. I reckon carbon pipes sound much deeper & nicer. Good luck which ever way you go.

Delkevic are offering a variety of different pipes ATM. I know that a few have fit them & seem happy. They are a bit cheaper too. I have not heard any reports on their CF cans yet though.

    Remus it is....

    Hi guys,

I just heard back from predator motorsports. Total cost is 140 + 88 GBP delivered,

That equates to $400+ for a link pipe. Not a chance... :(

I am going to get the remus carbon.

Thanks everyone for your advice on this. I am glad I am getting it sorted now as I suspect in the near future it will become even harder.

Hopefully this post can be of benefit to other potential "hi-risers" :)

Once I get the pipes i'll upload some pics...

    :(

Hopefully delivery from the US won't cost too much...

    Hi Pap,
did you get your remus exhaust?
I am considering a Staintune high rise. They are $700 (but polished look). I think that includes the mid can.
It all adds up doesnt it. New exhaust maybe a PC111.

    Hi Mark

I think the staintune pipes are great. The sound and the fact that you should have no issues getting them.

They have been very common on VFR750/800s IMHO and I wanted to have a different looking can.

I generally dealing with a 3+ day delay on responses to my emails from the supplier. I have submitted an order but have not got a confirmation for the company yet.

I still may go staintune if they stuff me around. I was just really keen on a hi rise carbon pipe.

I am definately considering the PCIII as I have read it will smooth out accelleration a bit and that would be a bonus.

I'll post updates and hopefully pictures of the completed project :)

Let me know how you go.

    Hi pipe

    Howdy you blokes.
I brought a 2000 mdl with a high mount madaz pipe in stainless and it sounds fabulous!
Very low burbling right up to a nice v8 type roar.
I`m not sure if madaz still exsist but they were in Melbourne(I think?)
    Try looking them up.
Have a look at my photos on this site.
