Was it running before you took the carbs off and cleaned them?

If it ran fine through the rev range, prior to you taking the carbs off, then I would suspect the carbs are either still dirty or something got plugged up. Pull your air box off and make sure the needle slides can move easily through the whole range. You will also need to sync the carbs before it will really run right. As for your charging issue, make sure you have a good battery (I suspect you just have a bad battery) and clean all the contact points. If your battery is good check your charging voltage (start the bike and check voltage @ ~3k+ rpm). If you're over charging (>15v), replace your R/R. If you're not charging, check your stator for a short between the windings and ground (check each yellow wire from the stator to a frame ground). If all connections are open (meaning no shorts), check resistance between windings (yellow wires). Resistance should be pretty low, check your service manual for exact numbers. If the stator checks out replace your R/R. Good luck.

Take off the tank, the airbox top, and the filter. Rig up a fuel source or just use what's left in the float bowls to get the engine running, and look at the vaccum slides. They should all rise the same amount in response to throttle increase.

It's VERY easy if you fiddled with carbs to get the diaphrams pinched when re-installing the top cover.

What a vivid imagination you have Jesse. The story was almost believable until I realized that you never posted a pic of this alleged bike.
