    Hello Cyborg,

this sounds scaring. It seems you're still trying to find what could be the stator cooker. Any idea? What are you looking at? I would obviously be very interested in your findings.

    Thanks!

Sorry to hear of your charging woes. My knowledge of this is limited only to my own bike and its electrical adventures and reading VFRworld. There are some things I have picked up that you might consider. Since the stator produces alot of power (power = voltage x current). I think it is about 70W. If you consider the heat of a 70W light globe. That has to be dissipated or it will cook your bits. If the regulator is not working the wires burn out as the current can not get through. I went to my mechanic with the issue of not charging the battery and brown wires, he replaced the stator as one phase was burnt out. This resulted in the three yellow wires and even the frame getting hot to touch even at idle. Replaced the R/R and wiring - all good. I have also read on this site that dissipation of power? can be achieved by having clean adequate earth wires. I removed my earth wire connections and cleaned and dialectric greased them. I have also read that an old battery can affect the ability of the charging/regulating system. My next addition is a voltmeter, so I can keep a close eye on the goings on. In answer to your questions. One part does affect the other but if it is only recent, hopefully it will be okay. I would recommend Ricks Motorsports in my limited dealings with them - better than my mechanic. Get the manual and go through the process of using the voltmeter to check the system yourself. I forgot the other question, my kids are brushing their teeth!! Hope this helps
