    old boys my ass

51 in jan and proud to ride.Mate has been over your side of pond to ride rute 66 for you
    gussed his 66 birthday.

While discussing the VFR I just purchased (new, crated 07), she tells me, "You are too old for that bike!"

I am 50 years old and never gave age a thought. I have been riding HD's for the past several years. How many older guys are out there enjoying the VFR?

Come on guys, post some ages so I can tell here that once again, she is wrong!

Forgive me if I already replied to this thread but I'm nearly 64. That happens when u get to be my age. I also like sports cars and have a 05 Subaru STI pushing about 400+ hp. Nothing wrong with a little speed, on wheels that is.

Yes I was curious about the age thing too. I'm 57 and chose the VFR800 over an ST whatever because of the weight factor. I'm just tall enough for the VFR and have crook knees so I didn't want to be battling with a heavyweight. My last bike was a 1982 CX500 EC Sports and I'm absolutely loving the VFR.

in reply, i've heard the i'm to short legged to ride a tall bike like the vfr or st or -----
actually i have to tiptoe or ass slide to put a foot on the pavement when i stop, i don't ever recall having to put a foot down for balance at over 100 mph. has any body ever experienced the old fart on a vfr rejection??? thats when you pull in to a gas station and the teenage girls are eyeing you and giggling till you pull of the helmet and they realize that they were coming on to a guy who looks like their granddad???

I think they can guess from my shape, as a rule, and how long it takes to get things working so I can get off the bike...

Wow, I'm 26, and I never realized how much I was in the minority. I got lucky and found a great deal on a used 2004 a few years back. Its only my second bike, but I'm pretty certain I will have it for as long as I'm able to ride. I have often said that if I get a different bike, it will have to be in addition to my VFR. I don't have the money to fill a stable with all the bikes I would love to own, but thankfully my wife loves to hop on behind me and ride as much as I do....so maybe someday I'll get to start a collection.

There have been a couple of occasions when I have almost decided that I needed to sell my VFR when finances have been tight, and every time, my wife wouldn't let me! I plan on keeping her and to keep riding just as long as I can!

Yes I think if you can find a wife that likes your bike, you should definitely keep her, young man.

Yep, she's a keeper. You wouldn't believe how many times I've heard "I'd like to get a bike but my wife won't let me". It always irks me to hear the term, "won't let me". It's like they are 12 yrs old and their mother is talking to them. What a bunch of pussies! Guys like that don't deserve to be on 2 wheels anyway. O.K. I've ranted enough.

Well twenty is still a lot. I figure riding keeps me young, but following you guys puts those years right back on. LOL

Riding with you "younger" guys is a nice change of pace from the usual geriatric HD dudes I sometimes ride with. They ride

under the speed limit and it drives me nuts. Shoulda seen the look on their faces when I showed up on my "CROTCH

ROCKET", as they put it. Stay safe. Phil

I'm 42 in December - I've been married 18 years and my wife encourages my love of bikes. I'm very lucky.

New member, just getting back into biking after a 8 year hiatus. I bought a new (09) VFR just yesterday. It's been placed in winter storage. I'll be 51 before the first ride in the spring
