Hey everybody. I'm new to VFRs but not motorcycles. I recently got a 5th generation bike that blew coolant smoke like a fog machine, found a motor on ebay, and swapped the motor. I think I've hooked up everything right but honestly, I've never had so many wires and vacuum lines, or fuel injection. The problem now is that it seems as though the rear cylinders are doing little or nothing. I have a spark, but the pipes are barely warm after a minute or so. Also the bike will only idle with my hand on the throttle ( idle screwed all the way in) and is obviously lacking power. Is there some way that the fuel injection can work for the front cylinders but not the rear, because I'm thinking it's a fuel issue.

Thanks in advance for some help. I'm stumped.

Need a test rig to check the injector circuit. on the cyl that you suspect. Get an green led from Radio Shack a
5 Watt 120 ohm resistor, on the leads minding the polarity, join the resistor to the positive side using 1/4 shrink tube to insulate the leads
expose @ 1.2 INCH OF BARE WIRE, remove the injector lead insert watch the polarity. turn over the bike(by the way check to see if you put the injector LEDs properly) See if the led lights on and off . If it does then thats not the fault. Next question ,did you remove any injector??
they are very sensitive to that (dirty pintel)Take pictures give us the exact model and Vin if you can. Anyone else chime in.
Did you use the injectors of the old ENGINE !! Try changing that injector!! Keep us informed to what you found !! Mike R...

Thanks for the help so far. I confirmed that the rear two injectors aren't delivering any fuel. There is voltage going to the injectors though. I'm thinking they're clogged. Their previous life had them in an engine that sat for a long while and ultimately got tons of water in the cylinders when running. It might have cracked with a lack of antifreeze one winter. So, yea, I'm using the old throttle bodies and injectors on the recently acquired motor. It makes since that they could be dirty and corroded. I'm hoping to take them out tomorrow and give them a cleaning. Any suggestions on a cleaning process?

I have shocked injectors back to life with a mc battery and some alligator test leads. You simply reverse polarity on the injector/neg to pos/pos to neg/ this shocks the plates. This was done with clogged injectors that were not submerged under water or from a junkyard bike, your results maybe different. BMW injectors responded well to this type of noodling, same goes for their fool pumps. Cheers.
