I know there are lots of posts on this. I see a pair of bars that have a rise of 1 1/8 inch. Anybody run these? They use existing cables and hoses.

They fit the 2008 VFR and are bolt on?

I am looking for less stress on my hands...any comments?

    Thanks...

    VFR800 (2002-2009) | HeliBars

    Higher rise and longer too.

Yes they bolt on, and the bolts are included.

If you mean less stress on your wrists and forearms, yes.

Check out LSL Spiegler handlebar conversion. Keep original cables and wires. Brings bars back a good three inches as well as up 2 inches. I have them on my 04VFR. Same cost as Heli bars, about 275.00. Very comfy riding position.

Looks like great stuff. Well made but checking on what it would cost for my 91 is not $275.00 but $369.00.

Check the modification codes carefully for specific bikes, shipping and handling costs, words like "usually" and "sometimes" that can be deceptive especially when it comes to signing the dotted line and parting with a good chunk of change.

Perhaps the earlier gen the cost is higher, but I spent 275.00 for my 6th gen. Not sure if that included shipping but well worth it either way in my book.

I looked up a set of bars for my 1200. They are $339.00 . I can see why there was confusion on the shipping cost. This company is of the dealer protective type and has a list of dealers who can order parts.

There is a disclaimer on the website stating that if one cannot find a dealer, that one should call to get help. Whether this means one can buy direct or one has to go through a dealer is unknown,

Call me picky, but I am the dude who reads the fine print and $100.00 discrepancies in pricing and WTF sales policies, causes me to close the gate before the horse gets out.

Looks like high quality stuff and many aftermarket products, gadgets and goodies are but this time round I think Heli might be the better route for my old back, wrists and wallet for my 1200.

Install them. Sit on the bike and go "vroom-vroom" twist the thottle and fool with the clutch. Do not fart on the seat. Save that for dealerships and for bikes you are never going to buy anyway. ;)

That is sweet! Gonna look into that, looks nice and love the bars. I really like the Heli's wider bar's but that looks way better.

Does anyone know if the 4th generation and 5th generation VFR Heli bars are interchangeable? Specifically are the fork tubes the same diameter and is the location change about the same. Has anyone tried it? I have a 99 and would like to know if I could use Heli's from a 4th generation bike. Thanks for any help you can give.
