Should I be weary? Can someone defeat the ODO on these bikes? Cable or electronic?
He has it for 1900, buy it or leave it?

Any odo can be defeated, but the price they are asking does not scream fraud to me. If anything, you should be concerned about how long it has been sitting, because that will determine how much it will take to get it running properly. Battery, carb cleaning, old rubber, etc...

    Good luck.

I'd be more concerned about the condition of it rather than the miles. Try to find out as much of the bike's history as you can. If the bike was well cared for and if it shows, then I'd take it in a second.

A guy near me listed a 4th gen with 11000 miles on it on craigslist near me and wanted 3 grand for it. No description whatsoever. I figured with that mileage, and that price the bike would be immaculate. Well, the bike ran like a honda always does but it was really beat up. Lots of cracks and scrapes on the plastic. As long as the bike your looking at runs like it should and looks the part, its a good deal.
