    Howdy MD!

Great to see you're back! Yeah man; I'd be up for a weekend ride/camping trip. I might be going back to school in the fall, so I need to get out there and ride a lot before I have to hunker down and study my arse off!

Hey, just remembered to check out this forum and saw I had a couple of messages. I'm doing well, just busy as always. I got the flat fixed and have ridden to work a few times, but I have what is probably a clogged jet (no top end, bad off idle response) so I need to pick up a fuel filter and clean the carbs out now. The race car has taken front row lately though so I haven't gotten around to it.

Gents you got a cajun 03 Red VFR rider over here in Lafayette. Once this Artic blast passes, I'll be riding again. Anybody ever ride over this way ?

I'm off weekends but work in industrial sales, so I can sneak off a day every once in a while. I could meet you in the middle too, is there good riding around BR or maybe north ?
I've also got a group of old riding buddies, we're all early 40's, spread out from New Roads to Alexandria. We ride here and there. None of them were smart enough to get a VFR though ! lol

Hey guys, new VFRWorld initiate with a white '93 750 in New Orleans. Bike needs new tires, some work on the brakes, and an exhaust that doesn't run it lean, but the looks make my heart stop. Definitely looking to meet any other VFR riders in the area!

I loved my white 93 VFR! Still kicking myself for selling it just a few years back!

I actually ended up getting rid of the white devil, it had a ludicrous number of problems the seller hadn't told me about, and he agreed to take it back because of that. Ended up waiting a few weeks, then picking up a 1994 750 in pristine condition, I have to pinch myself every time I look at her! Still up for meeting any New Orleans-area VFR riders if any of us are left:)

Make it a Sunday ride and I'm down. My MSF instructor told me about a trip he took to Denham Springs a few weeks ago that had some super-curvy roads, but he couldn't remember the exact route, so I'll see if I can get ahold of him and jog his memory.

    Motographer,
    Sunday is good for me.
Highway 22 and 16 runs from ponchatoula to Denham Springs. It is the One you'Re talking About if you have never ridden it. We must. Where do you want to meet Sunday and what time? Email me at dfein@cox.net or text me at 504 450-7459

Right now, I'm thinking of a different route, Hwy 11 out to Slidell, 190 to Mandeville, then riding the fun roads around Abita Springs, I know there are some great ones up there. No idea where to meet, depends on how many would want to go and who's living where. I'm just off of Carrollton by the Riverbend area, if that makes a difference.

Those roads are arrow straight with few turns in them. I have ridden all of them having grown up in rural south Washington parish. Hours of mindless high speed riding. The only excitement is passing the pitifully slow cars. Never getting a feel for the true spirit of the VFR. No need to go that far for no reward. Maybe our riding styles are different. If long stretches of wicked straight 120+ mph nothingness and speeding tickets is what you are looking for. Those are the roads to do it on. Try highway 41 from pearl river to bush go north up LA 21 to highway 16 In Sun to Folsom. Then across the Causeway backbone. Just a suggestion for you. Say hello to Deputy Dawg when you see him. Maybe next time.

I'm not sure we're thinking of the same place...yeah, the road from Slidell to Mandeville/Covington is a pretty straight and narrow one, but once you get up north of Covington, there are some really great ones, Stafford and Bush-Folsom in particular, and a number of the little roads splitting off of 1082. I was up there two weekends ago, and all I could think about was coming back with my motorcycle.

So last week's ride fell through, I'm hoping to give it another shot tomorrow. Same time, same place, 1 PM at the Shell station at St. Charles & Carrollton!
