Well, it will be mine as soon as I go pay the balance and pick it up. Silver '03 in nice shape. I took some pics before I left it. Naturally, there's angles I wish I would have got, but she's waiting for me 200 miles away, so I'll have to make do.
Are these aftermarket bar risers in the pic? If so, what brand?

ETA:The pic is not posting. Oh, well- maybe later...

    Thanks crusty,
Funny, when I click on the "add image" icon, it only asks me to add a URL, which I've done, like in every other forum I've posted in. I'm not offered the option of selecting an image straight from my computer, like in the instructions.

ok put your images onto photobucket or image shack which ever you prefer.... or go to the phot section here on the site and follow directions ...you can upload your ppictures to VFRW and they will be in the gallery section...... chop chop.....Stosh is getting impatient , and when he gets impatient he can't paint right....his artistic ability becomes flawed and things happen rather strangely LOL

Yay! indeed! Saturday I drove down from Lincoln, Ne. the the dealer in Kansas City and picked up my bike. I left the car there (to be picked up Friday) and rode back. The thing runs great! I took a longer way home which added a few miles which would have been better in the spring- the temp hovered around 46 degrees for the 250 miles, and no sun. I was thoroughly chilled by the time I got home. My winter gloves, which are fine for my 5 minute commute became little torture chambers after a few hours. At one point I stopped to stretch my legs and pulled off my gloves, My throttle hand was red and white with deep dents from the seams. One thing's for sure- something must be done about this seat. Long rides on the KLR always hurt the tailbone- the VFR seat instead hurts both legs.
I looked the bike over a little when I got home and found that the PO had apparently moved the rectifier up to the inside front right fairing. Can anyone identify the rectifier from these shots?:

I'll dig into the bike some more in the coming days.

Hey Rich, I could be totally off-base here but that doesn't look like the stock saddle to me??? Maybe it's just the angle of the photo, or the way the light's hitting it but it looks like either a re-foam & re-cover job or a completely non-stock (and cheap) aftermarket saddle.

You're right- it's a cloth covering of (I believe) the stock seat. It doesn't look bad in person, but it's really uncomfortable- as if some of the foam was replaced with rocks. I'll probably look into getting it redone with better foam.
