Hello from Central IL, home of boring roads and after this winter, many more potholes to fill. I just purchased my first VFR last fall, a red '02 model with just less than 8,000 miles on it, and I love it already! I've found forums to be quite friendly and helpful in the past, not to mention packed with tons of knowledge and experience, so I thought I should join.

My brother and I have plans for this May to take a trip to Tucson, as well as do a track day at the Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, IL. Anyone have any helpful suggestions/hints for a new VFR owner regarding either of these adventures?

Welcome, Paul. The only advice I can give would be to get in touch with some of us locals and make sure you come through CO on your way to Tucson. The canyons here will definitely cure any straight road bordem you're experiencing in IL.

Welcome, be warned the Co. crew will make you buy beer.

Well I certainly have no aversion to beer, but I must say I prefer the tasty kind over the cheap crappy kind.

Pay no attention to Crusty; CO has the most craft breweries in the country. Tink likes his cheap stuff, but if you're buying, his mind will change.
