    Hey everyone,

Newbie from Huntsville, AL. Two weeks ago I brought home an 02 VFR800 with a blown motor. It ran well but blew all of its coolant out of the exhaust and some of it mixed with the oil so it had a blown head gasket I guess. Anyway, I got a motor off ebay and swapped them last weekend and its ready to ride!

Day I got it home, Wednesday Feb 23.

    The next day (Thursday).

I piddled around Friday and Saturday but by Saturday night the motor was out.

Sunday I was able to get the replacement motor in and everything back on but the side fairings since I thought something was still wrong after the exhaust was still showing signs of burnt coolant. Apparently 20-30 minutes of riding isn't enough to clear mufflers that have been drenched with coolant. So the stock exhaust is on it until I flush the aftermarket mufflers.

    And done.

I've only been riding on the streets since Jun 09 and this is my 6th bike since then. I'm still searching for The One. I'm probably going to try out a street or speed triple next... The 05 Buell xb9sx I had would have been perfect with the vfr engine, imo. I loved everything about it except the engine.

    Thanks for looking,
    Sean

Forget about gas mileage. The big concern is how many twisties you got left on your tires?
