So what color is your bike?Would think if you've a red bike then gold or silver would look nice but white ?
Re: wheel paint chipping my 02 vfr started to loose its wheel paint at 2k miles ( chipping) also my brothers bike after many fights with honda they agreed to repaint still waiting though :'(
Wow, that's surprising for a bike that new... must have been a bad paint job. My 02 is nearing 4K miles and haven't noticed anything like that, but I am contemplating getting the black paint stripped and the aluminum polished. I like that look better than chrome or paint. 8)
it gets worse. we bought 3 '02 vfrs brand new, all three bikes have chipping wheels, rusting oil cooler lines pitted h/lamp lenses,paint pealing valve covers not to mention the weid on/off throttle response. honda has finnally agreed to do something, but its four months now and still nothing. honda dealership & customer support need to re-think their job discription ! :'(
That blows ... Where do you live? Is weather playing a part in that (rusting lines, headlamp lens pitting, etc.)? When you say paint peeling on the valve covers, the covers on my 02 aren't painted so it makes me wonder if the bikes are put together differently for different markets/locations. I live near the beach in SoCal and haven't noticed anything like that, but then I've only had the bike 6mos :-/
