Do you have a mate with a metal detector you can borrow? wave it over the whole area, even the trash and see what turns up. Did you go get the mail? check the pockets of the jacket you wore? pants? do you sit in the garage to take off your boots? bathroom? did you need a bottle opener for your beer? if so, check around where you keep your bottle opener. check around the beer...

I once lost the key to my Mom's car at a water park (Action Park, in NJ), it was a Sunday, so no dealers open to get a new key. Had to call my mom to bring her spare. This is like a 2.5 hour drive, each way I think, maybe 3, it was a long time ago. Plus she had to drive my car, which was just a piece of crap - hence I hadn't driven it. While we are waiting for her to arrive, they found the key in one of the filters. Being in the day before cell phones were popular, I couldn't call my mom and tell her to abort and go home, but rather had to wait for her to arrive. Oddly enough none of my friends wanted to ride back in the car with me and my mom, they all got in my car to go home. ;-)

played your guitar? near there?...in the case?

I lost my wallet one night.
I knew i put it on the counter, but it was gone the next morning.
I found it right outside a gap in the base cabinet diagonally across the kitchen - where 2cabinets come together in a corner. our house had been open a lot for a construction renovation project, and a RAT had taken up residence under the cabinets unbeknownst to us humans. the little varmit waited till we went to bed, then climbed up on the kitchen counter, grabbed my wallet & drug it back to the hole where it was juuuuuusssst barely too big to fit in the hole sideways. still had teeth marks on it when we found it. we think he was going to order a bunch of stuff from Wisconson & put it on my Visa card.
a nite later, Williard was up for a late nite peanutbutter snack when justice was served ...with the peanut butter. if the wallet had been turned endways instead of sideways, it would have fit through the gap, and forever been under the kitchen base cabinets....i would have been a basket case looking for it.

have you tried swearing? that might work.....or at least help.

    good hunting!

Sorry to hear of your current loss.
I often misplace my keys as I am getting changed as I place them on top of a low cupboard.

So the issue you have is not getting the barrel out to have one re-cut, it is the bikes security that recognises the key??
I have a Gen 5 that doesnt have HISS

I lost my keys about 6 months ago and found the ignition barrel was easy enough to get off. Just needed a long 3/8 socket extension and a set of security Torx fittings (from Bunnings). Got the keys cut from the barrel for cheap. Sorry if it is more complicated, that's as far as my experience goes.

No, no, no... The keys are in the mail box! You dropped them there because you were excited that the new skin mag arrived yesterday!
