Hey new site looks good! Quick question to anyone out there with a VFR, I'm trying to find out info on bar risers ie where to get them and how much of a difference they make. Thanks for any info. I have a '99 vfr (and yes it's red)
Genmar risers, takes about 15 min to install 3/4" rise and some slight adjustment back. http://www.zianet.com/GenMar/
I replaced the bars on my 2000 with Hawk (NT650GT) bars. About 1.5 inch higher, and look very like the stock bars. (I stripped the black paint.)
Great suggestion! Considering that stock bars are usually the first thing to be stripped off a Hawk, you could probably find them for a song. ;D
I put the Genmars on my 02 and got immediate relief from numb fingers and sore wrists.. Easy to put on and they do the job
I have Helibars and a Givi windscreen. They work awesome. Don't waste time or $$$ on the bar risers as you can simply raise the stock bars 3/4 inch for free! Just be sure to torque the bars correctly. That helped a bit but Helis are the way to go.
Put GenMars on my '91 - big difference - only takes about 15 minutes to install, and no concerns over having to replace stock cables.
Just one note: fork bars diameter for new VTEC model since 2006 is 43 mm instead of 42 mm. I bought the Genmar risers from an Ebay shop in U.K. and they did not fit although they swear it was for my model... A brand new 2011 make...
