Basically I am looking for a good sport/touring tire. The issue I am having is that my bike is commuter/weekend twisty destroyer. All the commuting (mostly straight-ish highway), however, is causing my tires to square off rather quickly :frown: (flat spot in middle). I am looking for some stronger compund tires, that move a decent amount of water (I live in seattle) but that will also do ok on the weekends. Any advice?

    Thanks,
    Byrds

Pilot Road 2 or 3 will do the job.

    +1

PR2 on the rear and PP2 on the front. I've gone through 2 sets and amazed at how well the PR2 rear holds up to squaring off compared to the old PP - I do a lot of commuting also.

I haven't researched the PR3 much but the new tread is supposed to be designed for wet riding.

I have been told that they are excellent on wet roads. When I was last up to my favorite cycle mechanic a gentleman was in there that had them and said that they stick well enough for the front wheel to come off the ground under heavy acceleration in rain. IMHO thats pretty impressive since most tires I have had slip under heavy throttle in the rain.

If you really honestly tear it up on weekends then go bt023 or bt016 maybe even the new dunlop Q2s. Now you honestly have to decide what you were interested in. Commuting or riding. Chose the tire that leans toward what you "like" or "value" most. If you value tearing it up, are whilling to give up extra long life. If commuting is what you love get the power road 2ct. It is as dull and boring as you can find but will last forever. People will say "I ride edge to egde on the power road" oh yeah. Well those same people couldnt do that on a super sport tire. They are very different. Edge to edge on a power road is what your grandma gets on her wheelchair. You wallet not mine. I go where the fun is.

Mich pilot power 2ct, Bridgestone BT-016 or BT-023 or Dunlop Q2

I ripped off the stock Dunlops on my 2008 new leftover...I think they caused me to crash that bike. Old hard tires.

So I slapped a set of Pirelli Angel STs on her. They seem to be real good so far. Only have about 250 miles on them..LOL.
