Ok never posted before so here it goes. I have a 96 vfr 750. I loaned the bike to a friend but he didnt ride it that much. I went to pick it up and rode it home no problems bike ran great. When i got home i took the plastics off to do body work and paint. bike sat for 2-3 days. When i put the body back on the bike it wont stay running. The only way to keep it running is with the choke on 100%, but if u touch the throtle the bike dies. I have tried to leave the choke on unitl bike is up to normal operating temp. I have changed the plugs, fuel filter, Fuel pump, changed to 110 octane fuel, and even ran a can of sea foam without any luck. I am out of idea's. If i us a can of carb cleaner i can get the bike running without the choke and as long as i keep spraying the bike will run (just not good). I have checked compression and i am getting around 180 PSI on all cylinders. Please assit. thank yall for your time and help

check for a vaccume line that may have come off when you [pulled the body panels off....

And if you can't fix it I will be willing to take the broken bike off your hands for a couple of hundred bucks

Classic symptoms of dirty carbs, clogged pilot jets, bad fuel pump or pump relay, but have you checked the fuel shut-off valve under the tank ??

To check pump issues, drain carbs using the screws and leave them open. Then, after being certain there's sufficient fuel in tank, press starter button for a few seconds and watch for carb drippages.

I have changed fuel filter and pump. I also have backed off carb screws and drained bowls and then hit starter to make sure they drip fuel. the tank is not on the bike using a jug to fill up the fuel lines. But now that i said that i remember there are 2 vac lines that are not hooked up not sure if they need to be just to test.

You would not be the first one to kink a fuel hose, when re-installing the tank. I didn't think it was possible, but several people on here have done it, with similar results.
