It appears that it is as finicky to set up as the Desmo GP11 and it has issues with keeping the tires on it for an entire race distance.

Leon is one of the best riders out there, Troy Corser was one of the best, when he went to BMW, look now! I hope they never get it fixed, wrong engine concept. Make V4 and it will work! If make a big bang crank, it will lose a lot of power, AND BMW always had problems with the Electronic,,,,

It is gonna be one hell of a weekend at LS this year. Starting early with the arrival of another close VFRW friend on the 20th....should be an epic blowout.

Bear was wondering what your plans were.....hasn't heard from you for awhile. Drop us a PM and let us know your tentative schedule. Mucky Duck roll call is Friday afternoon following the completion of the activities on track.

If you are going to be in town Thursday night, it's gonna be killer mexican food and drinks out on Carmel Valley Road, if you are interested. Open invite as always, Drew.

Wednesady night is probably gonna be a throw down of some sort somewhere between SF and Monterey.

Ducati 1,2,3 at MMP. Checa looks like he's not even trying hard. It looked like a winter race heeheeheee........kinda rare to see roadracers covered in mud. People have very short memories, BMW wasnt on the grid just a few seasons ago, they'll figure it out soon enough. If a bike is eating its tires by lap 13, seems like thats data with a rather short list of causes. The Kawaski looked pretty decent in that race. Its hard not to like watching racers that arent all in their early twenties, at least a bit easier to identify with a racer that has to shave every day. Hopefully WSBK can get around to doing more than just one race in the US soon.

    My WSBK comments

On the BMW - I heard a comment, think it was during the Speed broadcast, that BMW is using electronics that have been adapted from an automotive application. The explanation was that because of this, the traction control is too 'harsh' in it's response, which results in the bike unloading the rear tire and sliding it, using it up before the other bikes do. Watching them at MMP, where Corser charged off into the lead only to fall back steadily, I could believe that explanation.

On Checa and the almighty Ducs - It amazes me that one team (let alone several) running a year-old bike without official factory involvement can repeatedly defeat the likes of Aprilia, BMW, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Yamaha factory teams. That 1198 is one helluva motorbike.

It's gonna be a good season for WSBK.

I think it's great that a rider will receive support on a Triumph. It's good for the rider, the series and Triumph. Latus has a good reputation after working with Steve Rapp in superbike.

Yep, they're doing really good with DeSolvo too atm. SuperSport is a great place for them to start with the 675R; I look forward to seeing how it does.

I've not heard of the kid, guess he just got his license in '09; I wish him/them well.

    Scenes from The Black Hole.

Assen Holland may have the Circuit Von Drenthe, but here in the Frozen Wastelands of Wisconsin we've got our own Cathedral of Speed.

Nestled peacefully among the rolling country hills and lush green wooded forests of the Kettle Moraine lies our Holy Altar of Speed. :hail::hail::hail:Road America Circuit in Elkhart Lake Wisconsin. The Circuit's catch phrase is "Road America,4 miles of Fun."

If you've never seen the track in person campers all I can tell you is that it's an almighty place where the fastest racers come to the fore and really shine. And arguably one of the best places to sit and watch the races at Road America is up on the hill on the outside of Turn 5.
While other turns and sections of the track have official names like Andretti Straight,Moraine Sweep,Hurry Downs,The Carousel,The Kink,Kettle Bottoms,Canada Corner, and Thunder Valley,Turn 5 has no official name. Unofficially though I've nick-named it the Black Hole because this turn will suck you into the void of no return. It's a high speed down hill 90 degree left hand turn which more often than not is the demise of many top riders. Scott Russell said it best when he said "You can't win the race in Turn 5,but you can lose it."
From the vantage point high atop the hill on the outside of Turn 5 you are privy to some of the most intensely fierce braking duels you're likely to see at the track. By the time the riders clear the tree line of the Moraine Sweep and come into view they're already hard on the brakes and their bikes are squirming and dancing while the tires desperately search for grip. The Black Hole has a straight run-off road on the outside of the turn where the riders can safely recover if they make a mistake,it's the only turn on the track that has one.

Two laps to go in the Daytona Sportbike race,PJ Jacobsen,Josh Herrin, and Cameron Beaubier fight it out for the win.

White Flag lap in the Daytona Sportbike race and the Black Hole claims it's first victim Cameron Beaubier. Check out the lean angle and super tight inside line of the number 69 bike of Danny Eslick,he was going for it.

First lap of the Superbike race and the Black Hole claims another victim, not quite sure who this rider was. Check out the inside stuff-pass that bike number 1 Josh Hayes is putting on Martin Cardenas. Also note how much more upright Larry Pegram sits on his bike in the corner compared to the other riders in this pic. Larry is the seventh rider back on the light Blue BMW just behind the number 54 machine of Roger Lee Hayden.

Josh Hayes taking the lead while Blake Young and Tommy Hayden look on. From the moment the starting lights went out these three checked out and rode in lock-step for the entire race.

The Black Hole strikes again. Not sure who this rider was either but he was at the back of the field.

A blurry shot of B Boz at speed. I can't say for sure if anything was wrong with B Boz's bike campers but every time he'd power up the hill toward the Corvette Bridge and grab a big handful of brakes for Turn 6 Dubba B's bike would go EEEEEEEEEEeeeeee and squeal like a stuck pig.
I recorded the races and came home and watched them again. If you listen closely when Roger Lee Hayden is pulling up to his grid position before the race Greg White is talking about how the Jordan team found a software glitch in the fuel injection system on his bike, just after Roger Lee stops in his grid box B Boz's bike comes into the camera shot and pulls into the grid box next to him and you can actually hear the brakes on B Boz's bike squealing even before the race started.

I was trying to get a good shot of JD Beach. For the entire race he was locked in battle with bike number 86,Kawasaki mounted rider Jason Farrell out of Oshkosh Wisconsin. Whoo Hoo,a fellow Iceman from the Frozen Wastelands!

Last lap of the race and heavy crowd favorite Wisconsin's own Blake Young and his two shadows safely navigate the Black Hole one last time.

Last lap and the Black Hole claims yet another victim. Roger Lee Hayden gets sucked into the void and loses his race-long battle to Larry Pegram. Sweet Jeebus look how upright Larry sits in the saddle in the corners on that Beemer!

Oh the agony campers, the gluttonous appetite of the Black Hole cannot be satiated. The Black Hole claims it's final victim of the day.
Just seconds after Roger Lee Hayden gets sucked into the void and is never seen again JD Beach falls afoul of the Black Hole and spirals into the void of no return as well opening the door for his race long shadow Jason Farrell to take the position.

Crowd favorite Blake Young takes a well earned Victory lap around the Holy Altar of Speed and receives an enthusiastic round of applause for his efforts from the home crowd. :clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2:

Post race burn-outs at the event horizon of the Black Hole are always big crowd favorites! :bravo:

Post race wheelies going up the hill toward Turn 6 are also VERY BIG crowd favorites.
Ladies and gentlemen today's contestants for "Big Air Wheelie of the Day" are contestant number one,Josh Hayes.

    Contestant number two,Geoff May.

    And contestant number three,Jason Farrell.
And we have a winner!!! Ladies and gentlemen howzabout a big round of applause for our 'Big Air Wheelie of the Day" winner Oshkosh Wisconsin's own Jason Farrell. :clap2::clap2::clap2:

    Nice pics, Stosh.

As for MotoGP...Where the Pie Guy at? Way back there some where. Bunch of Hondas in the top 10, though.

I am a Stoner fan for sure these days.

Didn't need to look too far back to find the first American....

Like what Nicky is doing during the early sessions of these races, hopefully it will start translating into better finishes for him. He has been routinely quicker than Rossi, it just doesn't go that way on Sunday.

Stoner continues to get better, only 7 points out now.

With Dani & Colin gone....only 15 bikes on the grid. Aside from the riders knocking each other down and a bunch of smack talking, MotoGP has been quiet this year. Stoner and Honda seems to be a perfect fit.
