    I found a 2006 VFR800 w/ ABS.

    14,000 miles

    $6295.00

I haven't looked at it yet, I just saw the ad online. I have a few questions.

Any issues I should be aware of?

What questions should I ask when I go look at it?

    Is it a good deal?

Not the best price, but not the worst either. The big thing to be aware of is that the bike will be needing a major service, including valves, at 16K. That's gonna set you back $700-$800. That considered, I would be trying to work that price down to $5300 or so. The 12K service is also an important one as it involves flushing and replacing all fluids, which is somewhat expensive. I would make sure that this service was completed. If not, it's not that big of deal but would require further price negotiation.

    Welcome to the site

I agree that the price may be a little steep. The 12k maintenance is doable if you are somewhat of a wrench turner and know how to bleed the brakes and clutch. (I bought a Haynes Service and Repair Manual for about 30 bucks and it takes you through all of the stuff step by step)

As for the valve inspection, it's just your personal preference. There are these crazy stories of late model VFRs that have 80,000+ miles on them and never one inspection...

Where are you located and how far are you willing to travel? I found this one in my area: VFR-800 Old Saybrook, CT Craigslist. You can always look at CL to find some deals. Good luck.

The 12k runs about $350 at a dealership.

That is way too much. For that price you should be able to find a comparable bike with hard bags. Unless that bike is very farkled out I would wait for something better. Location?
