 Any thoughts or comments on when the V-5 design like the RC211 will be available to the public? I still love the four but it seems like a natural transition according to the past.

Be nice, but doubt the public will ever see it in street trim.. I can only lust after an updated RC45 with that engine..

I thought that the V5 was a responce to the then new Moto GP rules, twins could weigh so much, triples, fours, fives, and up to six cylinders. I understood that with the vast bank of motor technology the engineers decided that 5 cylinders with the legislated weight was the way to go.

I guess they were right overall. The chance of seeing a V5 street bike I believe is slim, back in 1966 the GP boys built a wonderful inline 6 of I think 296cc. The CBX 6 banger didn't show up till 1979!

Then again Those same guys brought out the NS400R two stroke triple for a couple of years in the mid eighties! It was in some markets just not this one, USA.

    I guess you never know.

If the V 5 happens, I'll be first in line!

It's not much harder to build than the current engine.:lever:

It doesn.t matter which one they produce, If they build a V-5 sportbike or a V-4 sportbike, I'm on it. I just hope I can afford it...........

From a logical perspective I think they will go the V-4 route because Honda already has the experience building V-4's for the masses. Besides could you imagine what would happen if they took the technology from the moto-gp V-4 and applied it to a steetbike? instant qualification for AMA and WSB homologation! This could be big...........
