    Hello all!

It's been a while since I signed up and posted but I had to come back. I went through a period where I was on the fence about going VFR or staying in cruiser land. Ended up getting a Harley Street Glide which I really enjoy riding...

But the VFR - went to a Honda dealership the other day and there was a 2010 sitting there. Kicked a leg over and I have to say, I still want one! Nothing else to say and no other way to put it. I LOVE this bike....

Although it won't be soon, I'm thinking the Glide and the Viffer might make pretty good stable mates?

Any way - take care all and I'm gonna hang around this time learning and getting to know some of you hopefully!

    Thanks,

    Mike

While you were gone we insulted you and called you a buffoon on a daily basis. Can we still do that or should we stop now that you're back?

Kidding of course. Stop pondering - just pull the trigger and go get the bike. :)

I'm telling you what man...it kinda annoyed me though, I had spoken to that same dealership last August and was asking if I could test ride the VFR, of course they said no...alright, well I ended up trading my Vic for the HD in early September. To be honest, I've decide I don't want to buy another bike I can't test ride first. I do understand why they might not allow it but that's just me....anyway, 2 weeks after I got the HD a salesperson from that SAME DEALER calls and says they will now let me test ride it...DAMMIT! Oh well, down the road I guess!

@Pliskin - no, no - go ahead and call me whatever, it's all true anyway! LOL!!!

The Harley will make a great coat rack for your VFR gear.

That was nice, I was just pointing oot the multifunction role a Hardley can play in ones life. With ape hangers and sissy bar you can also string a line and dry your clothes as well. That is Toe looking oot for ya there. :thumb:

Just make sure it's nothing long on the line...don't want to get any of the oil on your laundry that's leaking out of the HD.

    good timing

You picked a great time to consider one as prices have DROPPED significantly here in St. Louis anyway. They are asking $13,999 for the VFRA (DCT) and $13.499 for the VFR manual at my local Honda Dealership. They originally would not budge off of 17K but the times have changed! I had to get my DCT elsewhere because they were so hard headed (its the best bike I owned). Good luck!

Thanks everyone, I think ;)...the one over at that dealership was marked down to $12,999 which seems pretty good!

geeze...you could buy a house for that. why dont you drop 3 or 4 large on a gen5 & go have some fun?
if you don't like it sell it for what you have in it. if you like it keep it or trade up.
    life is short....buy a VFR.

Go for it, I have both 09 Street Glide and VFR1200 and love them both, they're different animails. Got VFR first and thought I would just keep one bike after getting the Street Glide, fortunately the Harley dealer low balled me on trade in value so I kept te VFR and I'm galde I did.

The girlfriend really enjoying riding pilion on the Street Glide with backrest and stereo blasting away. It's just relaxing for her texting and yapping away on the cell phone etc... . and I love the relaxed riding position and sheltering behind the big batwing. I don't need to go gazillion mph to enjoy the Street Glide.

I only do solo on the VFR after getting the Street Glide, not that it's ill equiped fo 2 ups. It's quick and nimble (actually anything is compared to Street Glide) and effortlessly powerful, often finding myself way over the speed limit when I look down at the speedometer. Don't mean to be a hooligan, it's great fun knowing you've a rocketship between your legs. Can't wait till the next track day! Cheers.

From my observations, it doesn't look like Harley riders wash their clothes a whole lot....

But they might dry their weed on a line off their bike though....

We'll get you on a VFR eventually! I just love the power and the smooth cornering...to me, it's a much better experience than riding a cruiser - some riders say it's a different experience, but, for me, what the heck, it blows riding a cruiser away!
I can't see myself wanting a cruiser even for long hauls over the VFR. I've got to call it like it is...there's no comparison between the two.

Mike, you may wish to talk to redaz04. He's in Scottsdale, and found a dealer who had new VFR 1200's at $11,500. Even though I've had HUGE success with Honda motorcycles, there are some dealers I like, and some that I don't. You may wan to try out the dealership that is advertising this price.
I love the bike and wouldn't have anything else in the garage!!
