Wondering if someone has any insight or similar experience: I have an '00 with 35k kms on the clock. On occasion, I will turn the key and I don't hear the fuel injection pump whine, and the red FI light on the dash stays on. Nothing happens when I press the ignition switch. If I turn the key to the off position and then back on to start the process over again, it will usually fire up. Is this the sign of some imminent failure?
I'm leaving for a week-long ride in two days and don't want to get screwed.

    Thanks!

Check your fi fuse near the battery for corrosion! Id start with that-maybe a bad earth if its intermittent!

Pull off your engine kill switch and spray it out with some contact cleaner. My headlight switch gets funky after a while and the low beam wont come back on when dimming from high beam without clicking the switch back and forth once. Being exposed to the elements is tough on electrical contacts.
