Had the fuel tank painted and having problems with reconnection. I have the banjo fitting and fuel return line sorted and the overflow but the air vent has me stumped. There is a line hanging at the bottom of the frame but it is both too short and too thick to attach to the vent on the tank. Is there a smaller hose together with a joiner that I am missing?

Bike is almost back together now. Had all the colored bits painted and the right crankcase also colour matched and sprayed. Hoping to finish her off this weekend and fire up for a test ride.

Will post a photo or two once complete.

My tank has two vent tubes. One smaller than the other. Ones goes to the charcoal canister (evap can) and the other (I think smaller one) is just a straight vent into the atmosphere.

That thick tube ends on a bracket on the left side of the engine, the air vent tube is a thin pipe then a plastic joiner which connects to the pipe you mentioned and eventually runs across the front of the engine(away from the headers) and sits at that bracket! So your missing the thin pipe and joiner- no biggie, i drove for over a year without it connected but better for safety that you fit the pipes as i did a few weeks back!

Thanks guys. I seemed to have only the thick tubing. I bought a length of 4 mm ID tubing and joined it to the thicker tube by pushing inside and glueing. I was tempted to just ride but thought having those petrol fumes under the tank was a risk. Fix seems fine.
