Need a radiator for an 85' VF700F Interceptor....are there other radiators than can be used with zero mods? Can I use a rad from a Sabre ? Can i use a 750 rad? etc...

My "new" VF has 56,000 miles and heats up while in town or 80+ weather....rad looks corroded. Engine cools quickly after shutting down - and it has a bypass switch for the fans.

A 750 radiator is the same animal but that is where it ends. Good luck with your hunt, hopefully someone here will be able to help you oot.

have you checked with a local radiator shop to see if they can boil it out or recore it for a reasonable price?

The outside of the radiator is deteriorating, you can run you fingers across the fins and some of them just dissolve : ) Which makes me wonder how it got this bad in the first place.

ToeCutter, do you know which year 750's will mate? And does it have to be from another interceptor - or will a rad from a Sabre or Mag work?

Thanks for the all the help

That's what a re-core is. They solder in a new center section and replace the portion that's deteriorating.

    NEW verses RECORE

There's a good chance you can have yours refurbished with warranty for a small amount more than buying someone else's used POS and end up in the same boat next year.
