Hey all. I just installed a Corbin seat on my '90, but couldn't get the solo cowl to fit over it. It fits ok at the bump pad (actually had to take off the stock bump pad because it hangs too low on the cowl). But, at the back the cowl is up about a 1/2", and forcing it down doesn't seem right. Not too sure how Corbin figured this would work. Anyone else have any success?

did you ever figure this out? I have the same issue. Maybe they mocked it up on a black bike and didnt notice the huge gap. IMO it would almost be easier to cut off the tabs and use adhesive velcro to hold it on. That's my next step, just put the harder side of the velcro on the cowl so it doesnt rub clothing..

No....never did figure it out. in the end, I just accepted that the solo cowl didn't fit with the corbin seat. It wasn't a huge issue anyway as I mostly ride 2up. Good luck with yours.....

The 95 will be a different seat than the 90. You can make the cowl fit, on the 90-93 model, but it requires a little trimming from the rear passenger foam (and re-riveting), and also a little widening of the front slots (on the 90-93).

if it has the carbin fiber fabric, expect a little slick of a feel compared to a stock seat (IMO), slightly lower seat height, and a little wider of a platform.

I got a little stupid with mine. My cowl is from Airtech not a factory cowl. I removed the tabs, cut openings for the grab handles to stay out, and will be using hard drive magnets to secure it through the seat. I did the same for the front plate on the car (using the OEM license plate holder through plastic grill (GTI)), and it does not move through storms, wind, or washes, yet pulls off very easily with 2 hands.

I have heard the Sargent is much better fitting for the Gen3

As for my pics, I am waiting to paint it for better weather. I'll post some up as soon as it's finished for sure.

So jealous of the solo seat cowl, it makes me sick. I'm hoping for some problem to come up with my bike so I don't have to think about the missing cowl.

sell your Corbin for lots of money on ebay.

buy beat to hell OEM seat on ebay for cheap.

Take OEM seat to local upholsterer and pay him $350 or so to get exactly what you want built to fit your ass and seat cowl etc....

I had to change my plan up a bit, but for all intent and purpose it works. I started with an airtech solo cowl. With the rear tabs on it bubbled like everyone is talking about. so I cut off the tabs and epoxied 2 velcro straps (hoops) to the underside. Pull the seat and slide it off the end. Installs in about 30 seconds and still has a slight raise at the end, however I also cut opening for my grab handles to stay out all of the time, so with those out, you dont really notice it. I'll post a pic up tonight

    Small consolation for you.
I loved the look of the solo seat cowl on my 2004 until I noticed it was rubbing on the paint of the seat base.
I'm not a fanatic about keeping the bike pristine since I have already put a few scrapes in the right fairing by laying it down, but.......
I do enough damage accidently to not want to leave something that will rub on the paint every day.
I now use a Tail Pack tailbag that wouldn't let me use it anyway.

Cowl fits fine on my 5th Gen with a Corbin, but I don't have any pics to prove it to you doubting-simpletons.

    Why would you need pictures?
You said it fits, that should be good enough for anyone.

It was a joke, Charles, based on comments such as

"...wish we could see some photos"
    "...because its not a Sargent"
    "...sell your Corbin"

    And mine was sarcasm.

I see a lot of comments about posting pictures or something isn't accepted as being the truth.
Why should anyone need to post pictures to prove anything.
