Well i finally got my brake rotors from Thurn, i guess 2 weeks wasn't bad shipping wise. I did a couple of other things while i was waiting.

I carbon fibered my instrument panel and top bridge with some laminate from DragonPlate.

    ....................................before..............................................after

I fabbed up a mirror bracket that will allow me to use the mirrors from my 07
It might not be pretty but it's functional. I borrowed the mill at work to do most of the cutting and then used the disc sander to try and get the shape i wanted.
it didn't turn out as nice as i wanted but it's close. Some final sanding and some black paint and i think it'll be ok.

...... bracket ...............it's 2 pieces .......bottom one mounts to 93 mount, top one bolts to the bottom one and the 07 mount bolts to that. 07 mirror on a 93 and it extends it nicely.

    And finally.....

the newly painted front wheel with rebuilt front forks. The rotors are very nice, weigh about half as much as the originals. The original shock is just there until i get a rebuilt 929 from Jamie at Daugherty Motorsports.
And she's on 2 wheels again.

    More pics to come...

One question to all who take a look... When i finally get to the body work.

    Stickers or no stickers??

Another vote here for no stickers.

Good work! I ordered a bunch of Stuff from Thurn and was happy with them. Great set of mirrors and clear front signals.
    Those Rotors look cool.

So i have more pics to post. Been a while, got slowed down during the holidays but i've been working here and there on the project

I'd first like to thank Jamie at Daugherty Motorsports for the rebuilt 929 shock, this gives a lot more adjustability options over the stock one. And Joshua at Wire my Bike for helping with some issues on my starter relay...... Thanks guys!!!

during the thanksgiving holiday i changed the oil out, new filter, new plugs/wires, threw some seafoam in the gas tank and cranked her over for the first time in about 3 months. She cranked for about 10 secs and fired right up, took the choke off after about a min and idled at 1100.

Here's the rebuilt 929 shock in place.

Now i wanted to do something different with the exhaust, so i thought and thought about it. Looked at $800 pipes, carbon fiber, stainless steel, would this look good, would this fit without major construction/ destruction.
So i started to look at car mufflers...... the two bros pipe that was on the bike was basically a glass pack muffler, straight pipe surrounded by fiberglass and probably about $500. So i looked and found a small glass pack muffler and got some pipe elbows and started to fit things together.

View attachment 16757 View attachment 16754 View attachment 16755 View attachment 16756

The muffler was $29 and the elbows and various fittings were probably another $50

View attachment 16758 View attachment 16759 View attachment 16760 View attachment 16761 View attachment 16763

I got everything together and where i wanted it and then tacked it up. My welding skills ... suck... so took it to a real welder and he charged me another $100.

Then i had the whole system ceramic painted and i also wrapped it.

I haven't taken pics of it wrapped and on the bike but the guy that ceramic painted it wanted to see pics of it on the bike before i wrapped it. The black wrap kinda gives it a carbon fiber look.

That's where i am at now........ on to the bodywork!!!!!!

Yeh, When you work on the space shuttle, your work tends to be meticulous. Going out on a limb there, but it seems like the shoe fits being from the West Coast and all. Too bad they shut the space program down.

I like stickers, but I started riding on dirtbikes where everyone knew that stickers make you faster. ;)

They also help cover scratches but since you don't have any of those...

Wow! That exhaust looks crazy. Would love to hear how it sounds.

How big are those 2 pipes at the end? Look like a bit of a choke point (re: flow) from the pics.

The Black exhaust looks amazing!! Good work.

Nice work! Have you thought about some smoked turn signals?

BTW.....I have a Chiquita banana sticker if you want. It will also really make the bike look sharp.

I have a crappy clip on my phone, i'll try and get a better one along with pics of it wrapped and on the bike.

The 2 tips are 1 1/2" pipe comming out of 2" pipe, didn't think 2- 2" pipes sticking out the back end would look good so i had to go smaller . I thought it might have some restriction but i don't think there is a whole lot.

I actually got the clear ones from Thurn...... The smoked ones look awesome but down here in Florida, i want the senior citizens to see my turn signals.

How do the rear signals fit from Thurn?
When I e-mailed them they said the fronts fit great but the rear were dodgy.

I have the fronts from Thurn and I love 'em.

I kept the rears stock for the same reason you mention...need people to notice them.

There was a manufacturing defect with the rear signals from Thurn that causes them to not fit properly without minor modification. It's really not a big deal since all you have to do is drill out the existing mounting hole to make it a little bigger. It's a quick fix but for the price I paid for them I would expect them to be perfect from straight from the manufacturer. Definitely not a deal breaker IMO.
