First of all I admit I am mechanically impaired. I can change oil/oil filter and pull wheels. My 5 year old battery gave up the ghost...that seems about the right number of years for a battery. But...I had an RR go bad at 20,000 miles and now I have 46,000 miles. New battery tests 13.5 volts static, at idle at the battery terminals 14.0 volts, at 4000 rpm at the battery terminals 13.5 volts, 5000 rpm 13.4 volts... Do I need to investigate further?
prefer not to guess. and the symptoms don't point to any one thing other than the charging system. Could be electrical connections, RR, or stator. best thing you can do is remove some plastic and check the wiring for burned connectors. From there it will take an ohm meter to troubleshoot components.
