Well its hit that excellent time of year in Australia. Beautiful weather and cool enough to wear leathers.

I did the old road (Old pacific hwy) ride and I am just so happy with my bike.

P.S. I re-connected my power commander and while it doesn't sound as good (not as lumpy sounding as it was) the bike is so much easier to ride. Much smoother accelleration.

    Nice bike!

Very jealous of your weather. It's getting cold here

I was in your beautiful country a few years back for work. We flew into Sydney and traveled up the Gold Coast. It was in November just when the weather here in NY is turning to crap and over there, it was coming into summer. It's funny how you don't really think about these things especially with this forum where you have people from all over the world. Usually, if I'm thinking summer, then I'm assuming it's summer for everybody. Anyway, the bike looks great. I too like the blue 5th Gens.

    No commiserations necessary Pap.

Up here in the Frozen Wastelands we actually like the winter season. Honest.

It's when all the Snobunnies come out.

Oz certainly has a wonderful range of roads to course and the weather to match 'em. Aside from the fact that Viffers are so inherently beautiful, I have been told by a knowledgeable source that they are also excellent for helping keep the balcony over the toy shop manageable (it's the vibration, y'see) :) One concern I would have, however, is the presence of those nasty little killer koalas that tend to drop on unsuspecting cyclists from blue gums, whilst passing under groves. I've heard that they are capable of biting clear through the ordinary Viffer tire when hungry, but I expect my Ozzie mate Charlie (Victoria) might haved been having me on a bit about that particular aspect of their kind. At any rate, we'll keep your splendid riding conditions in mind as the snow level on Mauna Loa lowers here in beautiful Hawaii... :)

    Cheers, -K

They're locally known as " drop bears " though suspect your friend is having you on, these Koalas tend to leave VFR riders alone respecting its wonderful V4 sound.

    Drop Bear
Thylarctos plummetus, is a large, arboreal, predatory marsupial related to the Koala.

Have to agree the weather is perfect here, I ride to and from work everyday and over the years on all sorts of machinery, but this new to me VFR is the best mode of transport I have ever had. Enjoying so much.

    Cheers

I had an awesome ride yesterday morning. STILL comfy in leathers (as it was early morning).

Thankfully I was able to out-run the drop bears :)

Be careful on that pretty bike of yours. I don't want you to crash so that we have to see photos of a Pap-smear. :)

Lucky bugger what loop did you do ?

It's been 2 weeks since my last decent ride, mind it was a good day ride from Sydney to Robertson Pie shop to Bundanoon, Marulan, Neriga, Nowra, Kanagroo Valley back to Robertson Pie Shop then back to Sydney, have you tried it since the last dirt section between Neriga and Nowra was Tarred ?

It's the kind of ride the VFR excels at, ie traffic, smokey free back roads with iffy road surfaces and lots of corners.

Oh yeah, love the old road, pity they tried to FIU with bitumen & loose gravel. Southern end is still pretty sweet though. That last right then left sweeper before the bridge has caught a few buggers out though, even when you know its there.
I'll there next week, coming north through Wollombi & Peats Ridge, hoping to T up with my mate at the Road Warrior on his Spazuki.
