Thanks Duccmann - Both of my parents are cool...I guess she remembers her father riding around on Hendersons and Indians back in the 30's. Motorcycle bug skipped her and her brother but hit me big, a day doesnt go by where I dont think about bikes in some degree. They say things run in familys, I think its true about riding too...

Ya my Dad never got the bug, neither has my 17 yr Son, shit thats all I did growing up every day I was on my dirt bike-even in the rain. My parents would get so pissed after riding in the rain washing all the mud off in the driveway and even taking off my jeans to hose off---------- OH YA GOOD TIMES. Well have the day off and heading up to Angeles Crest Hwy with the guy that got me all started with street bikes. :) Se Ya

I probably win the "who's the oldest" contest: I'm 63. 64 in February.

Mine is a pearl white '06 purchased "new" in '08 and just clocked past 48,000kms.

She's still as gorgeous to me today as the day I picked her up. March 29, 2008. Snow was still on the ground and 4 degrees C showing on the guage.

This is true. But if you tell Squirrelman you're going to trade in your bike on a first generation (just for giggles), you might send him to an early grave.

One of the crazy old man thoughts i've developed more and more over my 24 years riding experience is this: Why does ANYONE think he really needs or can use any more horsepower than a typical, stock 600 or 750 comes with from the factory ???????? Kids !!?

Maybe it's just bragging rights, but a ZX-14 or any ultra-high hp bike is an example of wretched, stupid, unnecessary excess IMO.

I will admit, however, that just occasionally--but not often-- when i'm on my VTR 250, i wish for an extra 5 or 10 hp and then wonder WHY ???

I think it mostly has to do with the primarily male need for: "mine's bigger than your's"

Agree with you 100%, though I must say I often wish for a few more hp from my SR 250. Just turned 41, old enough to be excused if I've posted on this thread before.

NOIts not about mine is bigger than yours, Why do you want to put dah cabosh on an old mans dream (if 45 is old) of owning an example of what you were denegrating? I have ridden everything under the sun and can appreciate a Rebel 250 in the parking lot doing figure 8s to a litre bike doing close to 200mph. Rode an NSR 50 with a RS 125cc motor in it, (that was excessive.) VFR works ok carrying two humans that have a combined weight of 350 # but I am sure when I get my Hayabusa it will handle carrying a pillion better than my old gal Honda  I dont wana hear someone recomending that we need to go on diets either!

I dunno about you guys, but my 57 YO body has the brain of my 20ish one. I still seem to do stupid shit when I shouldn't, just seems to take longer to recover is all.

60 years old and looking forward to buying a VFR800. I was really impressed when I first rode one at a Honda demo ride in 2002.
I've owned several crotch rockets since then , the last one being a 2007 GSXR-1000.
Love the sound of the V4.
Did a little photoshopping of my dream bike.

Looking for a red 2002 or newer VFR with black wheels.

So some people think that 50 is to olde to ride a motorcycle? How absurd!

I'm 73 now and learned to ride when I was 68. Of course I was the oldest one in the class, but so what?

I have always gone with the belief that it is not what you ride, but that you ride(sorry but mopeds are excluded).
Age is a frame of mind sort of speak. The mind is willing but the body may remind you of reality. As long as it does
not hurt(too much) go for it. I feel that it keeps me young(er). I have contemplated buying a newer bike, but I feel
that my present rides(baringing any extranious variables) will eventually outlast me. I plan to enjoy what I got. Not
the latest and greatest, but neither am I. Live form today, and do the most with what you have. Just my 2cents.
