Not necessarily that brand, but I put one in my 500... never going back to acid.
More $$$, but I'm sold. No adding water, no acid spills on swingarm, great cranking power, holds charge longer.
Your results may vary, but my experience is positive.

+1 on the gel batteries but for the same money I'd get a SHORAI lithium ion. Lighter, more power, longer life, same money as the lead acid. Lead batteries are history.

I have a MOTOBATT in my R. It was under $80 IIRC. My R had a YB16 in it and was a BIG battery. I put in a YB12 replacement from MOTOBATT and it turns over that big motor no problem. Every spring she's reluctant to start but with this battery it's no problem. It is much lighter and much smaller. I have it mounted on it's side, no prob for a GEL. The MB also has 4 terminals which gives you some mounting options and/or a place for a trickle charger pigtail. I'll never go back.

    Agreed RC. ^^^^^

I actually purchased a BikeMaster TruGel battery on Ebay that I was planning to use in my '03 Volks6000,never did though. I ended up just giving it away still brand new in the box to a buddy of mine.

I went with a Ballistic 8 Cell EVO2 lithium ferrous phosphate battery. It's physically smaller in size, weighs less, only costs slightly more than the stock battery, has more cold cranking amps, and with proper care is supposed to last twice as long as a lead acid battery. Total slam dunk no brainer.

Stock battery. 8.1 lbs 210 cold cranking amps.

Ballistic 8 Cell EVO2 battery. 1.7 lbs 275 cold cranking amps.
