looking for a pair of stock cans for an 07 25th ABS, anyone have a nice pair they want to get rid of?

I'm looking for a buddy of mine and he wants to see if he can live with the extra noise of an aftermarket exhaust, but doesn't want to drop the $750-1000 on such an exhaust just to find out.
i've modified a few exhausts for other bikes so i figured i could take care of his bike for pretty cheap.

thinking like $100-150 shipped to 98230 for a mint pair of cans is about right considering that's what i paid for the last 2 sets of flawless cans for other bikes.

And one question, what is general consensus for needing a tune on a modified stock can? some bikes really seem to need them while others don't... PC3? PC5? other? place the DL maps?

    Thanks in advance guys!

What is coming off his bike? I'm running stock cans right now but might be interested in gutted or certain aftermarket cans.

    Ummm, nothing.
    He has stock cans...

He wants to know if he can live with more noise before he spends close to a grand on an exhaust and would prefer to hack apart another pair of stock cans so he can quickly switch back to stock if he doesn't like it...

    Not looking for a trade.

It'll only cost us a pair of used cans and some muffler packing kits as I can build all the other parts with scrap perforated sheet and SS tube I have around my shop... So less than $200 out the door plus a little time.

Working on something for you. Do you need the heat shields too? Given that he is just going to trash them anyways, we may be able to work something out. Hell, it is even close by.

And BTW, what difference does it make on the year and whether it is ABS? The fact that it is 6th gen should be fine am I not correct?

OK. I'll keep to myself, I have a set here but the frieght would preclude any chance of being a good deal.

    Randy,
Awesome! His bike is 100% stock with only 2800km on it so his stuff is all perfect, but it might not be a bad idea to grab the heat shields anyways.

As far as the differences between years and abs or not, they seem to list the two options separately on most sites... So maybe the midlife is different, I honestly don't know....

Oh and I got my bike although I ended up with something totally different than the late 80s early 90s VFR I was after... But inconvinced my buddy to get one! Haha!

Luke, yeah I imagine shipping would be pretty expensive...

He can always put these one on, if I get them for you, and gut those. Save his originals whcih may be better. Performance wise and fit though, I really don't think there is any difference. These that I may get are off an American bike though so who knows, the cat. might be different. But I doubt that. Give me a week or so see what I can come up with.

Alright then Shmee. PM me wih your contact information. I will set things up for next week some time. I will be unemployed starting Monday so I have all the time in the world. Cept they will be sending me these pay reminders via E-mail Direct deposit until the death of me. See, they never let you go, really.

We can meet somewhere midway like maybe Coquitalm or Ridge Meadows area. Chomper is the contact I had. I get first dubbs on the left heat shield though so I will help with the pay. You have wheels you can throw these into?

BTW. Check out the calendar winners from this year. Chomper made the January list. His is hiding quite nicely behind mine.

If any one else is looking for a stock set. Let me know.

I just put a TBR system on, so the stock system ( mint ) is ready for a new home.
