    Simon - you are a funny dude. I can't wait to hit someone up with an official "chop".

    So a bottle of Dr Pepper and some peanut butter cups is all it takes? Your a cheap little whore. But I can definitely roll with the metal all day long. If I ever find myself taking a holiday/vacation to ZA, I'm gonna take you up on that shit. Just don't put me on some bike with no clock and a speed limiter.

    I like the expression "fuck-wit."

    Got that one from an Aussie me used to work with, funny similarity at least in my cloudy mind is: a pejorative expression for someone down under was a POM, similar to your CHOP...Anywho0 - Gud luK on your bikie, had a similar situation years ago on a 900 Ducati, it was a 2000 year model and I had the wrong ECU, it ended up being a side stand switch issue. You can punch people legally where you are? Here we can shooot yah///:rambo: Cheers

    Spoken like a true 1%er. You say something rude and we call you on it. I say something rude in response and you're gonna split my face open for me. Let me just clue you in to the fact that many have tried and few have actually succeded in making contact, take your best shot. Added to the fact that I've busted my own face worse than anyone else ever has.

    Maybe I've jumped to conclusions here though. Is the stereotype the same for 1%er in SA as it is here in the USA? IE: Complete dirtbag waste of air and leather, belives that they are above the law and that women are a lesser species, therefore deserving to be treated as property, like shit, and beaten for no apparent reason other than the beer she just brought isn't cold enough.

    I may be waaaaaaay off base here, and would love to be corrected if I am. However, when you came in here and started shitting on people, that were trying to clarify some information so they could bend over backwards to help you (as literelly dozens of people here have and will do for just about anyone), you brushed them aside rather shortly as if they were annoying children who had no clue what a motorcycle was. Then you started bragging about your size, that you're a 1%er, and basically coming across as a big badass tough guy who had no time for anything or anyone, you just wanted the right answer handed to you , immediately, on a silver plate.

    Again, please correct me if I'm wrong. But don't play the classic big guy card that "little guys shouldn't talk to big guys like that". We're both adults, you speak you mind, I'll speak my mind, I care not what you look like, what color you are, how you dress, or anything else. I don't run around telling people what a badass I am, and I don't need a dozen other guys around me to talk shit like most "badasses" I've come across.

    On a more serious note, not being a wiseass at all, can you not get Dr Pepper and Peanut butter cups where you're at, or is that just what you would prefer as payment??

    ouch, your rapier wit is such that I could never defend myself

    however could I answer such a targeted and well thought out speil?

    yes, of course I don't own a motorcycle, I just spend time here for??????
    It isn't like I have pics of either my bike or garage in my profile...

    and chop would be what exactly?

    Off the top of my heads, words (not even slang) that are different from England to the US, two countries that supposedly share a language

    Spanner = wrench (not sure if it refers to a specific kind of wrench)
    Torch = flashlight
    Jumper = sweatshirt
    mobile = cell phone
    lift = elevator
    bonnet = hood

    even across the US, there is different slang for the same thing

    Hoagie = sub = grinder = deli sandwhich = hero = submarine
    soda = pop = coke(no matter brand/flavor)
    Jimmies = shots = sprinkles
    cabinet = shake
    etc.

    slang in fact historically has been a very localized thing, since it is made up. This has changed somewhat due to modern communications, but is still true to a certain extent. Even if you thought it common, the proper response would have been something like "oh, sorry, thought that term was common everywhere, mea culpa, I meant to refer to the guage cluster on the bike." Even if it is common everywhere this board reaches, and it isn't; why be rude to someone who didn't know it? As opposed to being helpful? Your response, not willing to be helpful or kind to another poster, is especially ironic considering you are yourself asking for help from others. So you expect people to help you, but aren't willing to explain something to others? Never mind you could be blocking someone who could help you, from understanding the questiion properly.

    And yet that wasn't even one of the six "universal" definitions in the online slang dictionairy. So have you written to them to point out how wrong they are yet?

    Somewhat true, but you lose it quicker on a full out sport bike. Seeing as you ride a 100 hp VFR as opposed to a 170 hp sport bike, I don't feel that your knowledge is sufficient to give a qualified opinion. Thanks for your input.:tongue:

    So I gues the right answer was...pull the choke, turn the ignition on and push the start button.

    I guess it didn't really matter WTF clocks are, afterall.

    You can't make this sh!t up.

    :crazy:

    Oh, my first post and its to say I ride a 95bhp VFR750 but I used to ride a ZZR1400, does that qualify me to have an opinion:eek:ffended:
    Anyway, Hi to everybody from the UK. I have owned numerous bikes and around 15 RC36/2 VFR750 94 - 97. My company, Mister Brightside breaks bikes for spare parts so I am very conversant with these bikes and can dismantle them blindfolded, an interesting point is that engines are virtualy impossible to sell as they never go wrong, I have had one with 150,000k and it ran and sounded just like a low miler. Hi again and I am looking forward to being an active member, love this thread, its just my thing
