It sounds like Media hype to me. I don't see Honda actually producing that bike. V4/5's are too expensive to produce, plus the market isn't demanding that kind of motorcycle. Honda knows that, but 'business as usual' doesn't sell magazines.

Keeping the dream alive... Trying to second guess a company like Honda, or Yamaha etc.. is like trying to time the market, very hard to say where they really want to push. You are probably right but...

Was anyone expecting the R1? They have to push ahead to lead right?

One of these days, a Honda V4 or V5 updated sport bike/sport touring bike just might come true, I'm thinking around 2009

The idea of a Motogp replica is great but imagine how much that thing would cost..... Look at the Desmocedici replica. $64000 if you can find one.... I'll take the 1098, hell maybe even the tricolore S since at $25000 its a relative bargain.

    Ummm...one thing comes to mind.......

If you build it, they will come...

Being that I just spent around $3500 on upgrades for my 4th gen, I won't be able to get one of these for a few years, if Honda ever makes it happen. I would buy one of these before I bought the Ducati Desmocedici. Now the 1098 S is a different story...

I told you about this rummor on my other thread time for the 800 to go.

I'm telling you, Honda wants to replace the CBR1000RR with something that will stand out, & in my book this will.

As stated B-4, "IF THEY BUILD IT_- THEY WILL BUY !"

Put it this way, everyone that I know that has owned a Honda V4 Sport bike or currently does is chomping @ the bits on this & started saving & already looking @ loans.
If it's $15,000.00 or less I'll pay cash yesterday, if more, I'd buy anyway's.

I'll also bet it will push 160 ponies or more, Holy Sh_t, I just got the chills !

    "f_ck, I want 2 now" (track & a street one) !

Would a V5 be legal for Superbike racing? When Honda built the RC30 and RC45 the retail price was alot higher than most bikes but Honda cared more about racing them than selling them.

Sure it would be legal as long as it is the same displacement & it's a production bike.

    I know the RC30 & RC45 was alot more, I raced them & well worth the a$$ kicking I did !!!

    p.s. love your 86 VFR 750 (miss my 3 very much VFR750,RC30,RC45).
& I just got back from Commiefornia, where I p/u a clean 89 Hawk 650GT for me & my daughter to haul a$$ on the smaller cart track (1.1 mile long)@ MMP.

    is my 2nd one I've owned now.
