Hey guys I've been looking around for some luggage for my 06 vfr 800 and the cheapest seems to be out of the UK. Does anyone who has ordered from a British dealer, ebayer or David Silver Spares remember what it cost to get a full set of luggague or just the saddle bags shipped to Canada?

It was 2008, but at that time David Silver Spares charged me 121.07 GBP to ship a luggage set (side bags, racks, liners) to Canada. Took two days!

Yes - tho I'm in the US . . . bought mine from Doble Cycles. Be sure to check the Canadian tariff code prior to ordering. Fedex mis-classified mine as luggage that you would put in the overhead on the plane - it was the difference between 20% duty and zero duty. The seller put "motorcycle luggage" on the customs form and the Fedex clerk keyed in on "luggage", ignoring the entire section in the code covering motorcycle parts and accessories. Customs (US) was a total PITA to deal with to get the situation corrected. It took nearly a year, but I did get the duty back. If you know the tariff code going in it's easily avoided.

I think I read your post on that earlier, definitely making sure they get marked as motorcycle parts and not luggage.

It's probably the same for Canada - not sure, but I think NAFTA standardized the duties. It's worth checking the Canadian tariff schedule, as Canada could possibly have different import treaties with the UK than the US does.

Think I paid $1200 USD for the entire set up from David Silver Spares 4 years ago.

Congratulations! This is simply the best mod you can make to a VFR.

Pro tip: don't tighten any fasteners until everything is connected.

Do you remember how it was shipped? Royal mail or a courier like Fed Ex?
